It is very clear in the readme; we aren't all just showing off tounge.gifBut it is a Screenshots thread; thats what you do

To find the texture names of the flares, look in the .dat file

 

1  4.0          40.0        36  30  24 200 sun_2

 

Texture name is the last entry. (sun_2 in my example)

 

Use TXD Workshop, and duplicate an existing texture entry, rename it to sun_2; and sun_2a for alpha channel. Import your texture. Save. Make sure that you have all textures that are listed in your .dat file in your effectsPC.txd

The only problem is that the readme is in russian and when opened it with Notepad,

I only see a lot of "ä".

Translation it would never work.

My PC doesn't support these kinda language somehow.

Do avoid 'uploading without permission'; just upload the .dat file and the textures. Everyone knows where to find the script dozingoff.gif

It will look good in any conversion: San Vice, SA:LC, United, LCS PC Edition, VCS PC Edition, because all this sun effects has all originals (GTA III - all versions, GTA VC - all versions, GTA LCS - all versions, GTA VCS - all versions, GTA SA - only PS2). R* cut this effects only from PC & XBOX versions of GTA San Andreas for unknown reason (I must say this effects is no way affecting to performance. Maybe R* wanted to make it as PS2 exclusive. In lap of gods... or only Rockstar Games knows reason). And effects there is almost same, only GTA III, GTA VC and GTA LCS has different lens flare textures than GTA SA and GTA VCS.

Wait for test files tomorrow.

*Ehem* You're wrong here. It IS present in San Andreas, but R* fcked the engine of the game somehow, and original lens-flare only works on some GPU's.

Yes.

I always wondered why I never could see the original lensflare in GTA SA.

After years it seems it was my sh*tty GPU, Intel GMA910/915 crap.

Later I got a new notebook with Nvidia 9600M, lensflare is visible on my Nvidia GPU.

Now someone needs to figure out the whole sag_fx effect. In the PS2 version of SA, the streetlights actually light up the car along with the traffic lights at night time.

1. I changed format of old sunhaze CLEO script (from 0.2-0.5 versions) to not to make it load. But if you want to restore it, you should remove ASI lensflare script and change format csold to cs. Why we need 2 sun haze effects which one is bugged?

I make this script stay just because someone asked for it (you if I remember).

 

2. All PS2 Main.SCM scripts that PC version doesn't includes.

Version 1.0 of gta_sa.exe if you mean that.

 

This time it's working.

Hoewever, not on my custom particle.txd, effect.fxp and effectsPC.txd.

Any way to get the lensflare ASI working on custom effects?

 

I used one of the lensflare texture by tatui in the ENB Screenshots.

It looks very very beautfill!

I only want to use my own effectsPC.txd, effects.fxp and particle.txd and I'm set.

Lensflare doesn't change particle.txd or effects.fxp.

The only flaw is you adding the textures to effectsPC.txd.

Damn, I use that too I think.

Can I send the files to you to see what's wrong about this effects?

I have no clue why it makes my game crash.

I asked a member here but don't know if he wants to test them out.

Ok, I have send the files.

 

 

EDIT

I have no f*cking clue how and why, but I got it fixed by making sure the lens flare texture must not be the last texture in the effectsPC.txd

I moved the lens flare texture above till under the gunshell texture, saved, started up the game, it doesn't crash!

How in the f*cking world can this happen??

Screw that, as long as it works, I'm fine xD

 

 

I became insane about the crashes but then I took a printscreen to the knee LOL!

I found the perfect timecyc combination. Using the original TIMECYCP.DAT file from the PS2 version mixed with Mcsim's custom timecyc, it looks like the true ps2 version. The Sun Haze is even bigger! If anyone needs this file PM me. Note that I'm using the lensflare that mcsim included and not the one Jacko is. As said before, compared to the original timecycp, the ps2 version of it makes the sun larger, and the sky color is more true to ps2. Notice how the sky is more "yellow" compared to the other picture.

I know mine is not PS2, but it wasn't intended to be PS2.

I used other timecyc, that's why mine looks very different.

Not sure, can't be a timecyc error though. Most likely a particle problem.
