I still dont get why rockstar decided to revisit los santos. While im not dissapointed over the setting and will most definetly buy the game no matter what, i just think setting it in a new location would have been better. I mean i already seen enough of la in la noire and not to mention it was in san andreas. What city would you all have prefer? I would have prefer chicago or london or even vice city.

With Los Angeles being the second largest city in the country I don't think R* will disappoint and I understand it won't be a exact replica of the real city but tbh, I spend most time in Los Santos than in any other city in SA.

chicago

This. Or San Francisco / Singapore / Atlanta / Philly / Melbourne.

Anyway I'm OK with LA and can't wait to see it.

Wouldn't say I'am disappointed as such. So long as V is massive, with plenty of outer areas to travel to including (desert and countryside) I'll be happy. Since it's SoCal we're in fact going to, I'd hope San Diego is in too though.

Personally, I'd like to see Tokyo, Shangai, Dubai, Hawaii, Cuba, Bahamas and Miami (Vice). Anywhere from here and I'd be happy. I think Hawaii is the next logical step though.

Being from Europe, I'am not overly fussed about it being staged here. Though I wouldn't have any real quarrels if R* went this route, I wouldn't like to see London. I'd still buy it and I'd understand why London would be selected for storyline purposes but I had my fill of London in the Getaway series. No offence to the lads here from London. BUT, if London ever did feature I'd hope Paris (via Euro Tunnel) would feature along with another city. Maybe Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Milan, Monaco, Amsterdam, Munich and Berlin would all be cool places to visit, maybe even Switzerland too. With the latter, the landscape could make for something spectacular. Obviously all these places wouldn't be in the same game before anyone says it. I think the problem with places outside of the US, is 1. whether R* want to go down this route as it'd be far more complex. 2. Ignorance of some people, especially SOME Americans in thinking the US is the be all to end all. I can only imagine the whining from some.

Just, NO

I like LS, its better to replace SF, but in the trailer shows to be another city, Las Puertas something like that.

I was kind've hoping for Vice City again, but i'll be very happy if it's the whole of San Andreas again. Just Los Santos though? I'm not so sure.

I would like to see the capital city in usa

But it Great with LA

My thought exactly. Until the moment I saw the trailer I was hoping this time we would go to Capital City (I think that's how they call it in the in-game universe), instead of drug dealers we could have a plot filled with corrupt politicians and shootouts in the National Mall.

However, now I couldn't be more excited about going back to Los Santos and I wouldn't trade it for Capital City (maybe for the next one).

I agree with you. And don't forget also midnight club los angeles had LA....

I wanted London really badly but i have a feeling the next GTA title is going to be in Europe. Because if it's on the next consoles, they might have the ability to do a bigger map with multiple detailed cities and sections of different countries.

I would of wanted to see my hometown of dc too. Cities such as chicago and philly have great potential for a gta game other then la which has been done too many times in media in general.

I'm not disappointed that it is set in LS, but it was my least favourite city in GTA SA, so I'm not saying I didn't like it, but I much prefered San Fierro. So I'm still a little upset that we're not going to visit SF despite it being relatively close to LA (at least close enough to feature the two of them on the same map without it being weird).

Official General

I'll be honest and say that I was really hoping for GTA V to be set in a modern-day Vice City. I really wanted a new-look, modern Miami scenario, as Miami is even more popular than ever in terms of tourism, culture, media, entertainment, fashion etc. Plus Miami has its own home-grown major music scene and nightlife culture, plus it still experiences a lot drug activity, gangs, shootings and high crime rates. I really believed Rockstar could have made something of a modern-day VC and a state of Florida.

However, I'm still excited to see more of what GTA V is about, now I know its set in Los Santos (LA/Cali).

something new e.g. PNW-(seattle/vancouver) or a midwest-(chicago/detroit) even a D.C./Baltimore aera would be great, but seeing how they re-made LC, it only makes sense to give the same treatment for the others.......(yes, i still want a new vice city)

I was hoping for a modern day vice city too. Miami has change alot since the 80s, is more bigger and populated and diverse then ever, not to mention the city is still known for drug smugglers except theyre more low key now, rockstar might use it in gta 6.

Since I'm from Norway, I'd love if GTA V was set in Oslo tounge.gif

But of the cities in the US, Los Angeles is my favorite biggrin.gif

If it was set in Africa, Asia or South America, I'd suicidal.gif (shoot myself)

i really hope las vegas will be there...i loved casinos and desert in GTA SA!!

i agree. i don't see another opportunity to do it. i know i wouldn't want to see a "vegas only" GTA. that would suck.....too flat.

When was the last time anybody entered a thread because of a cockteasing thread title? For me, it was 30 seconds ago... annoying as hell.

Last time I watched the trailer was about a week ago.

That wasn't where I parked my car...

Sorry, must have read too many threads at once.

As for the topic at hand, I would love to see Vice City with the IV and V makeover.... but it just won't be the same without 80-s music, and it would be kind of strange to have a remake with 80's music too.

I really wish that they had the balls to try someplace fresh though, many places that have been suggested could be great, Philly, Chicago, Washington DC, Detroit....

Still - I trust R* and will most likely buy the GTA games no matter where the setting is.

While i'm not thrilled about the city of choice being Los Santos, considering the game is about the pursuit of the almighty dollar i think it should work out well. What better city to see the haves and the have nots than L.A.?

Plus this is R* we're talking about. Anybody here play GTAIV? Liberty City was brilliantly remade.
