Dick Valor
^ Where do you get off on calling him a "bumble****"? The flags on this forum are supposed to signify where you're from, not what you support. Where is the pirate flag supposed to say youre from? First of all, the USSR doesnt exist anymore, it disbanded in the 1980s, if i were from russia, then id be russian, but im not, i just support communism, you are one of the most unreasonable people i have ever had the displeasure of talking to and now i can perfectly understand why you have such a hard time understanding how the protagonist is not Ned Luke. You're a commie too? Damn, you're as retarded when it comes to politics as you are when it comes to accents. It's no wonder you think Ned Luke is old--you probably think everyone above 40 should have their organs harvested and rationed to the young. I'm seriously ashamed to call you a fellow Angelino. PS What is a commie doing playing a game that is about consolidating wealth and increasing the gap between the have's and have-not's? If you support communism, GTA should offend you, dummy. This sh*t ain't Robin Hood.
donnie_danko
I totally agree with GTA-King on this one. Just because Ned Luke is 53 in real life doesn't mean they can't make him 40-45 in the game. Which is how old I think the protagonist will be at the very max... if the first trailer is anything to go off of. What's wrong with playing as a seasoned criminal in that age range? I'm sure he'll be a complete bad-ass, have just lost his kids and wife and be needing to make some dough by getting involved with old friends and new enemies in the Los Santos underworld. Slamman
A mature games requires MATURE characters, you all are TOO young to even buy this game, if you think Ned Luke is too old, you're too young, and if it's too loud, you're too old! hahaha @Gta-King, I'm referring to the posts above my reply, regarding Tommy V's age DURING Vice City, because this site SHOULD be a resource for all that, I just don't know where you'll find it per se. I will say that I don't recall people's ages coming up while playing the games, it wasn't part and parcel to enjoy the games either Edited January 9, 2012 by Slamman
LaBrat
Yet again, no f*cking clue what you're talking about, Slamman. lol OT: If Ned Luke is indeed our protagonist, imagine how that would increase his fanbase. I'm sure he realises how big GTA is, which is why he would accept to be the lead role. Could help his career tremendously. Ned Luke doesn't have a fanbase. The only role I know him from besides GTA is a Cheerios commercial.
Slamman
Anyone who doesn't understand what I'm saying better complete their education, since I'm speaking rather plainly about things, Geez Ned Luke's acting career I was pretty much in the dark about, really. GTA-King
@Slamman: idk who you are talking about, but I will be 21 in March. @LaBrat: Which is why I said a lead role in V would increase his fan base. People will start looking him up and following his work more, and perhaps will lead him onto more greater things in his career. All I know him from is his role in Law and Order. MrcTOtheJ
First I would like to point out that Tommy Vercetti was 35 years old at the time of Vice City. This would be considered young to alot of people. Johnny Klebitz was 34 at the time of TLaD, and he was a badass. He was involved in a highway accident on his bike, which is why he limps when he runs... but he's still a badass. Also, I would like to point out that just because Ned Luke is 53 years old in real life doesn't mean he has to be that old in the game. He could easily play a later 30's early 40's character in the game. Just because he has a LITTLE bit of gray hair in the trailer doesn't mean he's some ancient artifact. I for one hope Ned Luke is our protagonist. Oh, and judging by listening to Ned Luke's gag reel and comparing the voice to the narrator in the trailer, I'm pretty certain it's him. I played the trailer about 5 times along with the gag reel side by side, and they sound very similar. Doesn't sound hispanic at all, imo. This right here, as I said in this topic and others, just because he's 53 in real life dosen't mean he can't play someone who's a few years younger, and like you said just because there's some (a pretty small amount really) grey hair dosen't mean he needs to be locked up in an old folks home. Heck I know a 28 year old who has more grey hair than the Ned Luke look-a-like sound-a-like in the trailer has.
HydraulicWaRiOr
Criteria to do voice acting in a GTA title: '1. Have acted a role in Law and Order at some point' CHECK. Thats seems like hes more worthy of a dirty cop in the game than someone whos always dodging the cops.
GTA-King
Ray Liotta played a cop in the movie Copland, but yet he also played drug kingpin/psychotic maniac Tommy Vercetti in Vice City. So I think your argument there is pretty much shot Hydraulic.
GR7
Old is the new young not only in games but other types of media, we've got Old snake, Sam fisher, Etzio Auditori and Max payne for games. We've got Rocky 6, Rambo 4, Indiana Jones 4 and die hard 4 representing movies, hell Chris Nolan made Bruce Wayne 8 years older with streaks of grey hair for the TDKR. An Older GTA protagonist that can still cause trouble will work no problem. Edited January 9, 2012 by Gregers08
TrialzGTAS
Does anyone understand change? Obviously R* wants to stop its "protag being 20 or so" thing, so they perhaps threw an older protag to see how we would react. wait until the game comes out, then complain. GTA-King
Perhaps this is one of those occasions where the police are not after him. The hispanic dude could be just some random NPC the cops are after. Could be possible that cops will not only chase YOU in V. Darrel
Explain why Ned Luke isnt trying to get away from the cops in the trailer and yet the hispanic guy is. Umm, there was a scene in one of the gta IV trailers which showed a man being chased by a police helicopter too. He had nothing to do with the storyline. Just accept the fact the voice you here in the trailer, is indeed that of ned luke.

Kill Frenzy!
I think the guy on the balcony is Ned Nuke, but i don´t think he´s the protagonist, in the beginning in the trailer a guy is saying, "bought a big house" That was not a caucasian voice, it was more like an afro american voice. And i do think that he´s going to be the protagonist.
Snake Without a Tongue
Middle of the night. Ned Luke rolls over, nudges his wife/girlfriend. "Honey, you awake?" "I am now." "Sorry." "What's wrong?" Pause. "Do I... do I sound Hispanic?" "Whaa..?" "Or like... Afro-Dominican?" "Go to sleep, Ned." Damn internet.
Vice Beach
I think he sounds like a middle aged white guy who was brought up by the streets, who's lived a long life of crime. Like he had to fight his whole life just to stay alive. I really think this character could be from Liberty City. Maybe Broker? Ned Luke's the protag. I'm about 99.999999% sure. If it's the bald hispanic albino looking moron in the red car I'd be pretty dissapointed.

LaBrat
Explain why Ned Luke isnt trying to get away from the cops in the trailer and yet the hispanic guy is. The black guy is trying to get away from the cops too. So saying that this means the protagonist is Hispanic is as legitimate as is saying the protagonist is African-American. llpalm08
I really hope that the next trailer confirms that the voice is comming from the Ned Luke looking guy (as voiced by Ned Luke). Why is it that sooooo many people started out thinking it was Ray Liotta aka Tommy Vercetti and suddenly people think he isnt the guy who clearley has the best graphics in trailer and think he is the afro guy or the hispanic guy, I would indeed be shocked if it was the afro guy or the hispanic guy because I dont feel the voice fits them. In IV as soon as I saw Niko I knew the voice was comming from him, as soon as I saw the guy on the balcony I knew it was him. If it turns out to not be him then it really is a bad trailer because the main focus is on the ned luke character, he is the only one to have a close up and he is the focus character in the robery scene (it will turn out to be him though because it most likeley is)
BurntAluminum
Well I still think it's Ray Liotta, the narration in the trailer sounds very much like Goodfella's, and the character everyone points out as Ned Luke also shares similarities physically to Ray Liotta. I would go as far as the narration style actually screaming Ray Liotta here, because well, that's the one person I'd go to to make a narration like that. Nowadays he looks much like the 'Protagonist' we've assumed as well(Though I still think he looks more like someone you take orders from rather than play as), not to say Ned Luke is impossible, I just find Ray Liotta a more plausable name to connect to the voice and face.
