The Notorious MOB
I actually think it's hilarious how a change to IMDB made by one of our members made it onto a podcast from one of the most reputable gaming sites in the world and was cited as possible proof of him being the protagonist. The whole segment was basically ripped from this very forum but that part is especially entertaining

Atald
Are they getting paid money to just repeat things that us hardcore fans have discovered for ourselves? When is GTAForums/users gonna start getting paid by R* or something for being the #1 source of information for the media NO! that tweet! ned luke's friend, talking about him being the lead voice actor. Which is also mentioned about a thousand times in this thread alone. And the fact that IMDb was edited by a member of this forum is indeed hilarious. izzystero
Basically these forums are GTA V propaganda. Any leaks are first discovered on these forums. I find it funny when I read all these articles and they mentioned how their staff did research. They read it on gtaforums.
The Notorious MOB
I notice Ned Luke has now been removed from the IMDB page.. do you think maybe they contacted his agent about it? Or was it just deleted because it hasn't been confirmed?

Deffpony
I have lost alot of faith in Gamespot/IGN lately. They dont do the research that us fans do. They just wait around for either R* to say something or one of us to discover it. Its bullsh*t that these networks dont have more insight than just listening to what we are talking about. TheEngin33r
Ok, I have been looking at the 'casting calls' for GTAV and after looking at those and from my own general assumptions about the trailer... I don't think the man on the balcony is the same one seen robbing the "Jewellery" store or driving the blue car... I mean, it looks sort of similar but not quite. I do, however, believe he is the same person that is driving the black Audi-like convertible later on in the trailer. After looking at the casting calls and the characters in the trailer I have made the following assumptions. Please let me know what you think. I have included the casting calls at the bottom in case anyone that reads this has not seen them. Here goes... I believe Miguel Gonzales and Mitch Hayes (the FBI agents) are the two characters seen driving the red and blue cars, respectively. I believe they are also the same two guys (along with a 3rd and 4th accomplice) seen robbing the Jewellery store. My reason to believe this is because, as it says in the Miguel Gonzales casting call, he is an "FBI agent caught between a few mob bosses" - now, imagine that Miguel and Mitch are partners/colleagues based in Los Santos. Maybe this is why they are seen performing criminal activities - perhaps Miguel has been blackmailed and forced to bring in Mitch for help with this. Also their apparent age/race suggests more similarities between the casting calls and depicted characters. Regarding the man on the balcony - I still believe this is Ned Luke and indeed the narrator. But I don't think he is "Mitch" as I have described here. He may well be one of a possible 2 or 3 protagonists, whose stories are intertwined but will be played separately - like 2 sides of the same coin, if you will. I'm not sure where exactly the Ned character would fit in with Mitch and Miguel based on what we've seen so far, but I'm sure Rockstar would find a way for this to work - for an example of unlikely connections between characters, just look at EFLC and IV and how closely related they all are without "knowing" it, as such. Ok... I think I may have rambled on enough now. Please let me know what you think, good or bad. As promised, here are the casting calls below: Mitch Hayes:38 , Annoying, wise cracking, highly successful FBI agent. In great shape. Does triathlons, drinks low cal beer, but still has a sense of humor. Miguel Gonzalez: 25 Young Mexican American FBI agent, caught between a few mob bosses. Very clean cut

Sborges91
Please forgive me if this has been discussed before. With the rumors going around about the narrator's name being Albert de Silva, I thought of a possibility. While the narrator doesn't look like someone who would have the last name of de Silva, that could be a government given name. Like if he was an informant for the F.I.B. in Liberty City (or any other city) and he had to move and change his name. I think that in the trailer he is telling the truth about why he moved but leaving out the major detail of him being an informant. He tried to earn a legit income, but with the economy he has to go back to his old ways. Again, if this has been talked about before, my apologies. Ratone
De Silva is usually a "spanishguese" name used in movies/games that portray brazillian characters. (Nobody can get the way we name people right) I can probably guess that the "casting call" bullsh*tter was aiming for a brazilian/south american/favela-inspired protagonists, since many games and movies are coming to brazil. From what I understand when they put somebody in the Federal Witness Protection program they hand them a phonebook and tell them to open it on a random page, close their eyes and pick a first name then do the same for the surname which gives you a new name for your new life (provided it's not the same as another witness). Him wanting to start a new life and leave "that line of work" behind does fit the profile of a government witness... However he does say that he bought a big house which wouldn't really be an option if he were. Still a possibility though.

MrcTOtheJ
Holy crap on a cracker, it is him. It seems they might be using the facial motion capture too, since they look so much alike, I mean I’m for it if it dosen’t cripple what they can do with character design too much, I mean while it’s cool I don’t want to see a game full of celebs, then again I might change my tune. Good work TC this is one of the best theories yet. About the witness protection thing, that could be it, and it’d make for an interesting angle. De Silva seems to be both a Spanish and a Portuguese surname. Since his son is being described as "likes to make racist comments online", it's possible that our protagonist will be a White Hispanic (just speculation, but any race can be racist though). Slamman
What is RUSH the codename used in casting, would you say there's a connection with GTA3's Scarface connection "Rush Rush" - Blondie?? ZeeKid2k10
March 8,20111 Remember this Supererogatory's search for information about GTA5 begins with a casting call for "Sao Paulo Knights," which an actor's website indicates is another name for Max Payne 3. From there, two casting calls for an "interactive project" known as Rush were found, which is now thought to be the code name for GTA5. "Simon" and "Albert de Silva." Simon is referenced in the call for the role of Nervous Jerry, who is apparently "terrified of Simon." And Albert appears in the description for Kevin de Silva, "Albert's fat, FPS-playing son" who "smokes a lot of weed" and is "into making racist comments while playing online." The investigation suggests that one of these characters could conceivably be the game's protagonist, as the larger role would typically be cast separately. Perhaps Simon and Albert are protagonist and antagonist? Or perhaps there are two playable characters? An actress has Rush listed as a production from Take-Two. She played the role of "inner city female street," something that wouldn't sound out of place in a GTA game. Telsey & Company has worked with Rockstar in the past and is responsible for the castings. Also, Actress Shandar Robinson lists a role as "Female City Street" in RUSH on her resumé, with the production company listed as Take 2 Games. GTA IV had a similar one-word codename when casting was underway for it -- FROZEN. Previous GTA rumors have pegged GTA5's setting as Hollywood. Many of the character in the casting calls sound like people who would be living in or around Los Angeles -- among the characters listed are a "Beverly Hills party boy," "Californian divorcee," actor, actress' publicist, and "FBI agent who now mostly works offering advice on TV shows." Mitch Hayes: 38 - Annoying, wise cracking, highly successful FBI agent. In great shape. Does triathlons, drinks low cal beer, but still has a sense of humor. Miguel Gonzalez: 25 Young Mexican American FBI agent, caught between a few mob bosses. Very clean cut Mrs Bell: Swinger, and mellow Californian divorcee. 45. Ugly but comfortable with self. Mrs Avery: Neurotic soccer mom, home maker, 48, anxious and addled on pain killers. Very angry at neighbor MRS Bell. Brother Adam: Welsh monk / cult leader / yoga teacher - 50, very lithe, very into exploring your personal tension through gripping massage. Needs Welsh accent. http://kickarss.com/general/game-rumors/21...acters-revealed

I mean if you remeber Ray Bocino mentioned Phil haveing an Ex when he asked "how's you ex?" or maybe it was just how's your wife, but she seems to fit the age bill. @Slamman, who knows could be unrelated, maybe they just like the band. Well not every woman whom gets Divorced goes back to there maiden name, infect quite a few I know still go by there ex’s name. Also there’s nothing saying that V isn’t in the IV era, yeah I mean it is a new Numbered title but Rockstar has been known to do what they want, when they want so it could be in the IV era. It could go any sort of direction as of now, so who knows.
