So, are the rest of you looking forward to the Election Campaigning?

Will you be Voting for the Major Parties, or are you Voting for the Minor/Smaller Parties?

It's gonna be a loooong election campaign.

Will be voting for the Greens (and am volunteering on the campaign of my local Greens candidate) because they fit largely with my left-wing views. I've been impressed with Di Natale's leadership thus far for his ability to call a spade a spade, and for his ability to stare down the anti-science loons that unfortunately exist within his party's support base.

Turnbull's utterly hopeless thanks to his party and the Hard Right that inhabit it, I don't think I need to elaborate further on that; and although Shorten is coming out with some OK ideas - he seems to come off as largely scripted and is thus not at all inspiring to listen to.

On a similar note: has anyone done the ABC's vote compass?

That's something I've been meaning to do but the time I have this week is very limited, I think I got up to question 20 before I had to leave to go to a meeting. At least I was able to give that AEC vote simulator a go so I have an idea how to properly fill out a vote without getting confused.

I dam hope the Greens or Labor get in, I know some people are against the Labor side of things but if they don't go flapping their wings like idiots and doing stupid things then I may consider voting for them, but for me I think the greens will be #1 on my slip. Libs can go suck a dry, cold, dog bone for all I care... I said it once about them and I'll say it again "Libs = What's best for them and their rich a$$ friends, f*ck the citizens". If anyone wants to know why we are still in the past, blame Libs for turning every matter into Political and blaming the other side for mistakes when it's the Libs making mistakes themselves trying to make them seem like the innocent kid.

I'm a NSW resident but what do you folks think of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Ludlam? I think he's a good or decent guy, Some people have complained about him but who doesn't get complaints? maybe I don't watch enough of that Politician brainwash channel on Sat TV but the amount of things I've heard about him are good.

Here's what I want to see (If I think of any others I'll update the list when I get back home)

Fix the NBN where possible, bring back FTTP

Do some Corruption investigation into the NBN to find out why millions of dollars was sent down the drain on outdated technology and NBN political matters.

It's a long shot but f*cking fix Centerlink, No matter what Australian website you come across, there will be someone talking about Centerlink and how horrible it is and how long it takes to get through to a live person only to be put on hold and cut off time after time after time.

Allocate more funding to school, You'll never guess how many school are falling apart down here and could do with some extra funding and assistance for peoples future. Heck because of funding cuts my old high school had to cut Teachers Aid (Where certain kids with disabilities get help from a teachers assistant or student learning support officer) I've been told my old high school is now down to 3 Student support learning officers, this Is a high school with 600 people.

I guess Shorten is safe then. If he was to be replaced, the whole Rank and File would have to have a say in the matter.

Great to hear you're out volunteering and getting involved.

I've voted green in the past but I haven't been much of a fan of the change to Di Natale. I haven't liked some of the deals he's made with the Liberals and in my opinion under his leadership the greens seem to be targeting Labor more than the Coalition.

I found Shorten to be pretty uninspiring while Abbot was PM but he's had a real turn around since Turnbull has taken over. I think his recent return to traditional Labor values and focus on fairness is gonna give him a real chance to win over swinging voters.

My senate vote is more important to me than my House of Reps vote (I live in Farrer which has always been one of the safest Coalition seats and which just got safer due to redistributions).

In the senate I'll be voting Socialist Alliance candidates first (who are never gonna get in) then preferencing the Labor candidates before moving onto other left wing parties/greens before working my way down through the centralist/one issue parties to the Nats then Libs then Nick Xenophon & Darryn Hinche teams with the right wing nut jobs last (I vote below the line)

My of Reps vote will depend on who Labor puts up for a candidate in my seat (if they bother at all that is - they haven't picked one yet). If they put someone half decent up I'll vote Labor but chances are we will get Darren Cameron (who has failed multiple times before and has some pretty objectional views about abortion) as a candidate. If they put him up Im voting Greens.

As Long as the Liberals don't get back in I'm happy, I might lose some sleep if they do get back in tho.

So far for the Years that Tony / Malcolm have been in office it's been nothing But budget Cuts to this and that.

Let's cut budget funding to schools

Let's not do anything to Fix Centerlink up, it's okay and fair to spend 3+ hours on hold only to get disconnected and having to dial Cl again and go through the same sh*t as before. Fix f*cking centerlink and then I might be happy.

Let's cut Australia's chance to have a bright future by seeing how many more years we can be cheap a$$holes and keep using FTTN for years to come while others are on State of the art Fibre to the Premise networks.

Let's cut funding to ABC and gag them from talking about certain topics

I'm pretty sure there's more stuff they ended up cutting or want to cut but I can't think of them off the top of my head right now.

Also this might not be at the top of your lists but right now we are also a Joke in the Technology industry / sector (so much for http://www.innovation.gov.au/)How are we going to be able to attract people to start up Company's and businesses in Australia if we can't even build a National Broadband Network properly? Oh and last I heard we were 60th and going above 60 in world Internet speed rankings and no Company would want to start up business or shop here if the right gear and infrastructure isn't in place and if that infrastructure isn't in place then that means the business won't open and jobs won't be created.

I'm pretty sure there's more stuff they ended up cutting or want to cut but I can't think of them off the top of my head right now.

Thoughts?

I'd honestly pay to see Caroline Wilson AND Eddie Everywhere drown in a large ice bath. One is a serial liar who thinks she's a professional sports journalist, the other an arrogant c*nt.

SNIP

Now these were Ad's worth watching.

I don't recall seeing the Yellow Pages Ad but boy do I remember Bigponds "Too many Rabbits in China" ad. To be honest, it's been years since I last heard about the Bigpond TMRIC ad. Don't want to get this thread spammed up with videos but I want to see if you remember this.

According to the description, the RSPCA ad has been around since 1988 but I recall seeing it played last year and TV and maybe once or Twice this year on TV. It's definitely got to be one of the few Ads on Australian TV that is still aired to this day. Shame that all the Animals in the ad have past tho :( but that's just life I guess.

Well Last two days (today and Yesterday) I've been pretty busy but I voted early yesterday because screw going to the Saturday one and being stuck in a Que. But even the early voting place I went to Yesterday was pretty packed which I didn't really expect it to be (well yes it's across from a Shopping center but I still didn't really expect it to be packed) Man when people said the Big White paper was 1 Meter long boy, were they right. I had to fold it in half because it wouldn't fit in the booths small space. But I had no trouble with the green slip through because it's tiny as :p

If you must know who I voted for then I'll say it's Labor, I Voted them because I want to see Turnbull and he's loonies out of government for what they have done during the last 3 years and have just about had enough of hearing on the news "Turnbull gov cuts this" "Turnbull gov cuts that" etc. Labor may or may not be better off but at least I won't have to hear stuff being cut night after night after night.

Oh and what line did i vote for on the big paper? Below or above the line? Well I'm not familiar with the people at the bottom of the line so I thought my sake of things I'll just go for the top which was the parties and that worked out pretty good. I can't really remember who I put on there besides the Pirate party and Labor.

I hope you all do the sensible thing and vote for the one true king. King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, Stannis Baratheon, First of His Name.

You all pretend not to hear him, so you sit idly by while a bastard pretender soils his throne!

What order did all you fine lads vote for on the white ballot paper? Top or bottom? When I arrived, it was a short line, thankfully.

My one was the top.

1. Liberal Democrats

2. Labor

3. Greens

4. Pirate Party

5. Liberals

6. Socialist Alliance.

Down with ALA, down with RUA, down with Pauline Hanson. :p

I'm praying this ridiculous backpacker tax doesn't go through. I've been here for over a year now, every cent I've earned has gone back into the economy, I can't see why they'd want to mess up such an important industry like that.

Pauline Hanson's One Nation has a Senate seat. God help this country.

I'll be honest, she's just as bad as she was 20 years ago. Replace the Asian race she hated in the 90s with Islamic ideology for today and she just spouts uninformed sh*t.
