I busted open a wasp nest next to my front door last week and their was a red back stashed inside the nest, Apparently the wasp paralyses the spider then lays its eggs in it so the baby wasps have something to eat when they hatch. The wasps had fixed the hole within a few hours. Ill have take a photo & post it here.

 

My old man got bitten by a red back a few years ago. It wasnt too bad a first but after a day or so he started acting real weird and paranoid and he started sweating his tits off. He ended up going to the hospital to get anti-venom and they reckoned while it wouldnt have done any lasting damage if he left it, the symptoms would have just got worse and worse every day for about a month. f*ck that.

Every time I dispose off a daddy long-legs or some other miscellaneous little, potentially harmless, spider, I feel like it's one more step in overcoming my arachnophobia. I feel confident afterwards. The other day a spider crawled past my pillow and then scattered underneath my bed. I slept there that night. Four years ago, I would have left to stay in a motel. Then I see a picture of a red-back the size of a large rodent, and I can feel my phobia retract back within me and all my work is for naught.
