I was in the school library today and everyone was watching the first Abbot conference. It was at that point, that I felt it would be drawn out into the next day/s. I feel sorry for this terrorist, because of how sickened and sadistic he is. Although, I do hope he kills himself instead of injuring any of the hostages.

Yeah it does they are probably going to draw this out so it ends peacefully also the hostages and hostage takers has enough supplies to last them a long time.

It's still too dangerous from the time they shut the power til they get in there the hostage taker could just start firing blindly hopingg he hits the hostages.

 

It's better to wait him out than to try and press his buttons and also we don't know for sure if he has bombs that could be boobytraped or he has a switch or kill switch.

HE turned the lights off so clearly that isn't stressing him. He has them huddled in a corner, he might not be the brightest guy going around but if you put him in a situation where he is panicked immediately all he needs to know is where his hostages are roughly located and we have a horrible tragedy on our hands..

 

Also if whos to say he hasn't got them all infront of him in the corner? If they go in what do you expect them to do, just keep firing until they get him? Come on mate, think about it.

I'm watching it live on Sky news. The cops near the door where the hostages came out of just put on their night vision. Looks like they're ready for the long haul.

It is. There have been countless seiges in this country, but this is so much different.

 

This isn't about drugs, this isn't a domestic, this isn't even a bank robbery.

 

This is an Australian violently holding his fellow Australians captive because he doesn't agree with the Australian way of life. That's why it's so hard hitting to everyone, say one thing.. but to do/want to do this to your fellow Australians.. it makes me sick personally. An Australian doing this to his fellow Australians because he has some distorted views.. it hits home very hard.

 

And the worry I, and I'm sure all of us feel for the hostages is very real due to that.

For Sydney commuters on GTA FORUMS

The exclusion zone is still in place and is now been classified as a crime scene.

Trains will NOT be going to Martin Place

Other than that most as usual.

Public transport passengers can use their tickets across any transport type.

A spokeswoman for Sydney Airport said flights out of the city were unaffected.

Earlier reports that Sydney airspace had been closed were incorrect.

A spokeswoman for Airservices Australia said: "Sydney operations are continuing and Sydney airspace has not been closed."

"There are choppers in the air and air traffic is being rerouted accordingly," the spokesman said.

I was thinking the same thing. Keyboard warriors, armchair experts and subtle racists take a sad day in Australia's history as an opportunity to argue about religion and other un-related garbage.

My school gave Acer Aspire One Laptops. You had to be in Year 10 too use it or unless you're in Year 11 or 12 doing Accounting.
