ArcaneKnight
Just make it so you have to obtain a hunting license. Similar to the schools they had for flying, driving, etc. Make a school or a course you have to take to earn your hunting license and presto, you're free to implement animals in game that you can hunt. PETA won't be able to say anything because licensed hunters will counter-sue and the District Attorney's office will throw the case out before it even sees a courtroom. Besides I don't want to see Rockstar take a step backwards, they had it in their last release RDR. So it'll be unrealistic and disappointing if they try to take them out now. Or if that is too much, just make the slaying of animals a purely self defense act. That way they can't say anything because you were simply defending yourself. I've told my neighbor on several occasions I'd kill their dog if it comes anywhere near my family, me or my pets. That's not illegal, it's just me letting them know I'll protect my loves ones at all costs if I feel threatened or I feel they're in danger, and that's perfectly legal. So expect to see k-9 dogs killed in solely self-defense situations. They aren't going to just have them hanging outside on some corner where you can snipe them from a rooftop. They'll have the dogs in back of a SUV patrol car or something. Your thoughts on this?
The_Mario_Man
Did PETA complain about killing animals in Red Dead Redemption? Chances are: No. Because they're fictional animals in a videogame. I'm sure PETA is more concerned about Obama swatting flies and other nonsense. If they did complain, I sure as hell never heard about it. But no, obtaining a hunting license will not make people 'stop complaining.' Also, I don't think you understand how laws work. 1. You can't sue somebody for complaining/protesting. 1st Amendment. 2. Murdering an animal because it happened to wander onto your property is not 'self-defense.' I would not be surprised at all if this scary dog you're threatening is a harmless chihuahua or poodle. Or a stuffed animal that wasn't made in LA. Ruining Imports Since 67
PETA will still cry. FFS they got mad at COD for the attack dogs mission where you had to defend yourself from them.
AceRay
So whenever you see a dog, cat, pigeon, pig, platypus, turtle etc they will stop what they are doing and try to kill you, madly trying to defeat you? No thanks, just have it like RDR when I can kill animals willy nilly please.
Sixta
PETA should have more things to worry about than the "virtual" killing of animals.

ArcaneKnight
Thins belongs in the wishlist topic. definitely not something on my wish list. I could care less how they go about doing it. I've just seen people say we won't see animals ingame because of the outcry PETA would make about it, so that's why R* will leave them out. Go the legal route, and they can't say sh*t. Besides, you geeks will say any thread belongs in <insert topic here>.. Let the mods do their job and stop with the member moderating. It's highly disrespectful to others' threads and topic ideas. So on that note, please stop disrespecting me.
The_Mario_Man
We'll consider respecting you when you start to show an ounce of respect to everybody else, Mr. "You don't deserve to play V because you're not from LA." Go the legal route, and they can't say sh*t. Yes they can. What do you think they've been complaining about for as long as they've existed? Usually the practices of the meat/clothing industry concerning the treatment of animals. Practices that are, as far as I know, legal. You can kill animals in other games, there's no reason GTA should be any different. It's not disrespectful to point out to users that a proper thread already exists. It's quite a bit more disrespectful to go on and on creating repeat threads every hour or so and create so much work for the moderators. Instead of looking for loopholes to create new topics, users should be looking for the best related topic. This forum is messy enough as it is. Ex Hellraiser
Did PETA complain about killing animals in Red Dead Redemption? Chances are: No. Because they're fictional animals in a videogame. They complained because in one mission in Battlefield 3 you have to stab a rat... If the rat bites you, you die, yet stabbing it is going to cause mass murder of real rats across the country by teenagers, in the eyes of PETA. Oh wait They are full of bullsh*t. A good cause, but they would somehow get offended by wind if it managed to hurt an animal. Animals will be fine in V, if anyone has a problem with it, screw them. If there is a sudden spike of K9 units getting shot at after V comes out, we may get worried, but that isn't going to happen.

krazy_fool_X
Yeah, Peta complained about the ethics of Pokemon. This year. Anyone trying to make Peta sound rational are way off the mark; those people are media-hogging morons. I say, let us kill animals how and when we want in the game and Peta can go cry to themselves and complain about it in ten years time when it's apparently at its most relevent... Mokrie Dela
PETA can go f*ck themselves. Its a game, end off. I doubt rockstar will be too concerned, RDR didn't get banned because of it, and i wouldnt be worried. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.
