Matty Posted November 6, 2011 Share Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) I think that mountable horses would be an interesting addition to Grand Theft Auto V, particularly for rural areas. If there are police horses (am not sure myself if there are police horses in Los Angeles) then it would make even more sense to be able to mount and ride them. Red Dead Redemption brought a lot of good ideas to the table, and it wouldn't surprise me if some of those ideas made it into Grand Theft Auto V. Also on another point; using the "it's Grand Theft Auto not Grand Theft *Insert feature here*" argument as a means of disagreeing with someone else's idea is really starting to get old in my opinion as there are a lot of things that you can do in the Grand Theft Auto series that don't particularly fit the context of the title. Anyway it'd be cool out in the countryside in rural towns and such. Would give it a more "country" feel which is something the countryside in SA really lacked IMO. You probably didn't feel it because the area was so big and barely any giveaways but I did however like the odd hick in the combine harvester doing over the crops. Anyone know where that thread is? Anyway, I wouldn't rule it out. Would certainly make some sense of the expression 'Get back on your horse', dontyathink? Right the genesis thread, does make you think. But I kind of doubt horses, unless otherwise. But it's alot things that have been talked about in the genesis thread, such as Los Santos and Vinewood, multiple characters in the game... Imagine it on multiplayer, someone running away on a horse and you'd just grab a car and plow them off the road... they don't need to fill the world with horses, it's just a nice touch and you have to admit that would be hilarious. I don't get it, so many fanboys saying GTA IV wasn't fun and when you have the potential to give the game something new and fun... Hmm I remember that genesis thread with the picture of a horse from RDR and it said "get back on the horse". it was interlaced with a picture from GTA IV, and a tree in the background in the shape of a V. Could it be we can mount horses in the next GTA? Man that pic could either be clues or complete BS. xXArch_AngelXx Posted November 6, 2011 Share Posted November 6, 2011 Not too sure what happens in southern California, But in the UK, Police usually ride horses (mostly in times when there large groups of people in the streets, with the possibility of a riot/mob). And also, fitting with the crappy economy theme, quite a few of the poorer people would ride horses to get from A to B (that's probably just where I live though ). But still, I don't know California except from watching 90210 and Numb3rs on TV. I'm all for being able to mount on a horse and ride around in the countryside, It would be really fun and something different for GTA, but I think it would be a good idea that you wouldn't be able to use many of the weapons you have, just the melee ones (or things like a sword or a baseball bat). For example, you crash your vehicle miles away from the city and any cars/roads, its a long walk to your obective however you know their are horses kept nearby. I suspect more people would make use of a horse than not. Not to mention the stealth aspect of a horse and its ability to cross deep water that a car would have to go around or be abandoned. I wouldn't mind horses somewhere out in the country that you can ride around. The map is supposed to be f*cking huge so the countryside could be more than big enough to take horses out. I don't see a problem with having horses in GTA, it would be just like other special vehicles (e.g. the forklift or the garbage truck) they are there for the sake of realism but the focus is still on the cars. Having those great horses R* created for RDR in a GTA game was one of two things that I had constantly in my mind when I played that game (the other being how I'd love to drive a Sanchez in RDR's map ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
