For V we have:

"You Know How It Is" 2nd November 2011 (Ok, I selected that - I don't think it has a named title, not yet anyway).

IV Trailers one to four in order:

"Things Will Be Different" 29th March 2007

"Looking for that Special Someone" 28th June 2007

"Move up, Ladies"

6th December 2007

"Good Lord, What Are You Doing?" AKA "Everyone's A Rat 27th March 2008

It is interesting to note the progression in the IV trailers, especially the graphical improvements. Niko gets a noticable makeover in "Move up Ladies", although Michelle is still not the finished article in this third trailer.

Also the first IV trailer, "Things Will be Different" shows no action, only the city, the protaganist, and his voice. "Looking for that Special Somene" gives far more direction as to what the plot is going to centre on. I would say that the V trailer probably is mid point between these two, but if final product improves at the same rate as IV did illustrated in the trailer progression, one can only assume it will be mind blowing.

I prefer GTA IV's first trailer; I believe that's because it was the first time I'd seen GTA in next-gen graphics which added to how great and mysterious it was. Still though GTA V's trailer is really good I watch it nearly every day now, it's just the fact that I'm going to get that "I'm lost" feeling again; I know the GTA maps inside and out but this time I get a whole new map to explore. biggrin.gif

EDIT: Yeah I pretty much agree with Kenna below; GTA V will probably be the better game for me.

I kind of like "Looking for that Special Someone". I think it has the best dialogue selection - the ending "Get this done- then we'll talk" is particularly effective.

for me, first trailer of GTA V look like launch trailer, of course it is not, but no teaser and he shows a much more complete game than the 1st trailer of GTA 4.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. We know nothing about the game yet. Looking forward to the next trailer...

To be fair, I think they are all superbly done. The lines used to lead into the action are great:

"but you know how it is..." and then the calm view of the city descends into fast paced action - exactly how we know a GTA title will be.

"so, where are you taking me" early in the third trailer - of course, that will be our choice, it is the nature of the franchise.

"Things will be different" is a great strapline for the first IV - i.e. different = more awesome than ever before.

I downloaded GTA IV's first trailer off XBL today and it just gave me chills. Even though the graphics aren't as good as most games today back in 2007 it was a jaw dropper.

I just loved how it showcased LC in this spectacular look that blew the previous games to bits. With GTA V's I like it for the mystery surrounding the protagonist (s), but the mood, atmosphere, narration by Niko and the song choice make GTA IV's original trailer one of my favourite trailers ever made.

I voted Move Up Ladies, especially for the end with Niko saying "Welcome to America" with the AK on his shoulder, and the police car crashing on a truck and Dimitri yelling "Stop shooting people you maniac!". The beginning was cool too, with the openning showing the statue of happiness and "Rockstar Games presents"

I also enjoyed GTAIVs trailer much more. It gave me chills...it had that mysterious theme, creepy and awesome music, and most of all... The first trailer of IV didn't show much, but enough and also showed the protagonist. Every important thing was shown, that is what makes that trailer the best. Vs trailer IMO showed too much and then again too little. No protagonist, then again showed all kinds of weapons and allready showed scenes from some missions i guess.

I think "Move Up Ladies" was my favourite from the IV trailers, I remember watching them all so many times, but that one in particular, I really enjoyed for some reason. Now with the release of the V trailer, I always found this time before a new GTA exciting. I'm anticipating this game so much, so I'll be equally enjoying the new trailers upon they're release as anyone else would be.

Haha I loved that feeling - when you've finished the tutorial mission and you're just let loose into the city. I look around and look up and just think "...where now?" before I begin exploring.

OT: I voted for the first GTA V trailer - I've been waiting for it so long and it's such a relief to see that it's almost exactly what I want.

Vice City Stories had the best trailers, if you ask me.

But on the GTA V versus GTA IV discussion, I will bet on "Looking for that special someone", I can probably expect that GTA V second trailer, will probably be the best.

I have a question, how long we're the gta IV trailers separated by?

I have added the dates to the OP. If they follow the same schedule, it should be February when we see the next one, although we might see a more consdensed delivery this time (as I expect a release in maybe a little less than a year), and they may also work around the release of Max Payne.

For me, it was the last trailer of Grand Theft Auto IV. Just got me in the mood to play it straightaway, there was so much action and it was a sort of an adrenaline - pumping trailer. Of course, that I didn't play it immediately was another thing due to lack of a console !!!
