progdog
for those of you who think 3 cities and a huge map isn't possible with the current console technology, think again. Think of it this way, 1. PS3 is Blu-ray and can pretty much handle anything. 2. The Xbox version will just be multiple discs to make up for the size of the game. (LA Noire was too large for X360 so it shipped on 3 discs) So basically, GTAV is going to be all kinds of massive.

Kenna
The map of LA Noire was very boring to me, the only fun thing to do in it was do complete missions, there was no fun driving around on streets at all, aslong as its fun to do whatever you want in V size does not matter. .Olbricht.
Does the XBOX 360 come with USB ports? Maybe R* will ship copies of the game bundled with CD drives that you can plug-in the XBOX. Problem solved.

progdog
My point is, if the game ends up being so massive (in regards to content & graphics as well as the map size) then they will adapt it for the X360 by making it multiple discs. They won''t hold back just to keep it to one disc for the X360.

With R* saying this is their most ambitious game yet, I take that as they're going to be pumping it full of detail and depth, as much as they can, that'll push the PS3 and 360's limits. I doubt there will be a second or third city like Los Santos.

It's still data though, motion scan/map size, the space it takes up can't tell the difference between the two so he's right that it would work with 3 discs. DjMiikkii
It would be the time involved in creating SA all over again. It took them a good part of 4 years to great Liberty City in GTA IV, and it would have cost a lot of money.

.Olbricht.
Fortunately, I play GTA on PC so size isn't much of an issue. What's worrying me is performance though.

Noire's map fit into one disc, in fact it was in every disc so no matter which one you had in your drive you could always roam through the whole city. If they had to split the map in several discs you would need to swap discs every so often. Of course there are workarounds like the blu-ray for PS3 or hard drive installs, but I think the point is not whether it is technically feasible but if it is humanly possible to build such a massive and detailed map like the one many people seems to be demanding.
