You're crazy... did you pay any attention to the Take Two conference call and how their 2013 fiscal year will be a huge one (March 2012 - March 2013). This means V will be released within this window of time, and as early as possible. They have released previous games around May.

 

2013 is unlikely, if not May it will be October this year. Max Payne might be a great game, but it doesn't deserve an entire year to itself. Only a game as big as GTA will compete so well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I can find, GTA: SA had 3 trailers and IV had 4. I would imagine the extra trailer being released for IV due to the 6 month delay on launching the game so going off that information, we should expect another 2 trailers before launch.

 

It has previously been mentioned that Rockstar tend to leave a 3 month period between the trailers. Although this was different with IV but they did release other information in between and again, with a 6 month delay, that's pretty understandable but say we go back to the 3 month deal.

That sounds likely. With this timeline there should be first new infos in magazines in January and new screens in February.

About the 2405 on the curb? It's just a house number. No big deal if you ask me. The May release date you're suggesting though, as much as I would want to agree with you, it seems pretty implausible considering how MASSIVE SA is expected to be. Expect it to be released beyond May because R* will be busy polishing the features and what not.

My thoughts exactly. It'll probably be some off the wall date no one would ever expect.

It has to do with stores' shipping costs and uniformity. R* isn't going to break this for a an in-joke.

 

MAY 24th 2012 is a Thursday. The game will not drop on this day. Maybe a trailer....but release?...no...

I think the fact that he was born in 1972 (which I think was known before TBoGT) is where the idea of 24th May being his birthdate came from (since 24051972 is what appears at the end of TBoGT).

 

While you're right about whatever it means having to have a meaning in the past too (though only two years not four), Rockstar are not above a bit of retrospective continuity (e.g. the bigfoot on the police car in the V trailer; Jim in TLAD; story elements in most GTA games). This could be another example. As has been said elsewhere, we'll know soon enough.

Respectfully disagreeing with that. Releasing GTA the same time as MP3 would be a death sentence to Max Payne and i do believe that GTA would make any other franchise seem less important in a Q3-4 release, but I think GTAV will be a summer release, kinda falling between the two events, drawing all the hype it can get.
