Los Santos Pedestrian
I was bored and didn't have writer's block for the first time in two weeks, so I decided to write a story about Niko Bellic in 2010. Just thank me that I could actually write two chapters in two hours, at school it takes me a week or more. NOTE: This is after the GTA IV ending where Roman survives. Not where he is killed. Chapter 1 4/18/10, late morning It was a foggy, dull Spring morning one day. Niko, hungover from a night of drinking, was still asleep at his Middle Park East apartment. He woke up but didn't open up his eyes. Instead he could only hear the ticking of the clock in his room. Suddenly he felt a piercing pain in his head and his eyes popped open. The sunlight was shining through the windows, signaling the sun rising. As he reached for his head, he saw that there was dry blood on his bed and his face. When he finally realized that he was drinking last night several minutes later, he thought that he may have fallen over and hit something while stumbling into his bed. Niko went into the bathroom and saw dry blood smeared on the side of his head and his face. He grabbed a towel, ran it under the sink, and rubbed it on himself. When he touched his wound by accident he jumped in pain. The gash was long and deep, still bleeding a little. He put some bandages on the wound but didn't dare to take a shower because he knew that it would hurt more than ever. Niko then looked at the clock. It was 10:48 AM, suprising him. Afterwards, he took off his bloody sheets, followed by his clothes. He put on some fresh ones. While he was zipping up his jacket he felt light-headed and collapsed onto his bed. Niko knew that this was from his large amount of blood loss. He got up, but with a lot less strength than he expected. He soon re-gain it about a minute later, after he wasn't feeling numb anymore. He fixed himself breakfast - a piece of toast with butter, black coffee and some pain pills. After finishing it all, he was about to turn on the TV when he got a phone call by an unknown caller. Picking it up, he was of course greeted by an anonymous caller. "Hello?" Niko, not knowing what situation he was in. "Hello Niko, this is Morgan." A serious-sounding voice answered Niko's question. "I met you at a bar last night. You must not remember me, after downing that entire vodka bottle and passing out on the floor." Niko realized this was an attempt at a joke, but didn't like how he talked about him. "Yeah, that's what we did in my home country. Drink all night - that's probably how I ended up here." "Very funny", Morgan replied. "Listen, you said last night you were looking for a new job, and you weren't working for anyone since 2008. I can give you a job if you want." "Well, sure, but I was drunk then and-" "Don't worry about it, Nikolai. You can get a job from me, just check in at my 'office' on Keneckie Avenue and Bedrock Street in Alderney anytime." Niko paused for a second, sighed, and responded. "I'll think about it. And it's Nikolaj." "I'm sure it is. I'll see you around, Nikolai." Niko hang up, annoyed by Morgan. Niko still didn't know what or who the hell he was talking about and to. He wanted more information about his supposed interaction with this supposed "Morgan". So he called someone who he knew could handle his drinks almost as well as him, and was with him that night. That person was his cousin, Roman. He pulled out his cell phone, then called his cousin, who then picked up the phone almost immediately. Roman answered with a simple "Hello, Niko?" "Hey cousin", Niko replied back. "I'm not here to be sinking ships, but I just wasnted to ask you something." "What, what is it? Vlad's people aren't coming after us again, are they?", Roman sain in a worried tone. "No, no, it's not that. I know that you didn't drink that much last night, and I supposedly met someone named Morgan at the bar." "Oh, it's just that. Yes, I sort of remember you talking about jobs and feeling like you were losing a lot of money, stuff like that. Why, is there a problem?" "It's not a problem yet. But thanks anyway Roman." "No problem, NB. I'll see you around sometime, eh?" "I'll do that, cousin." Niko then hung up. Niko looked at the clock again. It was 11:23. Seeing it was already almost noon, he decided to go out and see the person who called him. At first he forgot what the adress was, but then remembered soon enough - Keneckie Avenue and Bedrock Street. Niko was a person who knew what a trap looked like, so grabbed a pistol and stuffed it in his jeans pocket. He slapped a pair of shoes on and walked out the door. Outside on the parking lot was a grey Turismo, this time one he actually bought, and not one he "found deserted in an alleyway". That's something he wanted to avoid doing, although he'd rather be in a prison than South Bohan. Opening up the car door, he got his keys and turned on the car. He began driving to the mysterious destination, not knowing what he was going to get into. Chapter 2 Pulling up to the property, Niko found it was a decent-looking office building. Slightly convinced but still suspicious, he checked his pistol to make sure it was loaded and put it back in his pocket. He turned off the car and got out. He looked up to silver writing over the doors - it said: '12 Bedrock Street'. After walking inside, he was almost immediately greeted by Morgan, who was in a navy blue suit and black pants. At first glance, Niko could tell that Morgan was about 50 years old. "Welcome, Niko. Welcome to my personal property." "An entire five-story office building that you own. I wish I was successfull enough to do that." "Let me bring you into my office on the top floor." Niko was suspicious on how the entire building was empty, but then realized that it was still new when he saw the tile lobby flor was still shining from being polished and the furniture spotless. In the elevator, Niko and Morgan talked a little. "What's with the bandages?" Morgan asked. "That's what I've been trying to ask myself." Niko replied. When they got to the top floor, Niko was suprised on how the entire room took up half of the space on that floor. "This is my dream - my dream to make a new business. Do you like it?" "I have to say, it's impressive." "Thanks. Let's take a seat at my desk, shall we?" The two of them sat down, in a room-inside-a-room office space with an entire wall replaced by thick windows with light shining in. "My first question is, well, what do you want me here for?" "That was your suggestion. Of course, you were drunk at the time, I already know that, but I thought people like you could handle your drinks." Niko smirked, in a sarcastic way because he knew it was a joke but he was offended by Morgan. "Anyway, I have some work to be done. I want to expand my business, which is why I'm here. I have another office building in San Fierro, which I've had since 1997. That was my original, for my company called Harris-Travis Inc. We maxed out our usable space in that building, even when we expanded it - twice. So now here I have my new business, ready for occupation." "So what do you want me to do?" "I want you to go to San Fierro for me and check on my business, even try to persuade some of the workers in that crouded office to go here. If they won't budge, just forget about it and come back. That's all I want you to do, and I'll pay you a handsome price." Niko paused for a moment, then replied. "And that is...?" Morgan wrote on a piece of paper, folded it, and slid it on the desk towards Niko. Niko looked at it, picked it up and and unfolded it. Written on it was "$25,500". Niko paused for a moment, then took a deap breath. "That will work." "Excellent. You'll leave in about a week, I can supply you with a plane ticket soon." Both men shook hands, and Niko left the building. When he was driving home, he knew this would not only be the first time he would travel to the West Coast, but just a business trip where he would not get into any unwanted trouble. That's only what he thought, though. Chapter 3 Niko was packing up a briefcase in his bedroom when his phone began to ring. When he picked it up, it was Morgan again. "Niko, you ready for the plane ticket? It's for a flight in two days." "I'm just about ready, and I can finish packing in two days." "Good to know. I'll come over this evening and hand it to you." "I'll be on watch, Morgan." All of what Niko thought was necessary for a three-day trip was packed in that briefcase - one coat, one pair of pants, two pairs of socks, and a pair of black shoes. That part was for leisure. The business part was a suit, a tie, a pair of dress pants, sunglasses, and other clothing. What Niko always brought with him was a loaded weapon - although that would be hard to conceal on a plane. Finally, he packed $800 with him. Going to the west coast was something Niko always thought of ever since he moved to Liberty City back in 2008. Unfortunately he was literally trapped in LC since the city wouldn't let him board a flight out of the city. Niko always wondered why that was the case, but the reason probably was he was an illegal immigrant and that the security guards there were complete assholes to him. Once he tried to take a boat out of the city but he always hit a wall. That evening, Morgan made his promise. A black Cognoscenti pulled up to the apartment at about 6:20 P.M. with Morgan inside. Niko went down to the car and greeted the wealthy businessman, they both exchanged the ticket to San Fierro, and then went their ways. Chapter 4 I'll edit this soon enough. Los Santos Pedestrian
Oh great, this was inevitable. I completely lost track in this project, and now I can't think of anything to write anymore. I don't even think I'll make it to the next chapter now. So I'll either hand it over to someone else if they're willing to finish it or abandon it altogether. If someone doesn't want it in a week I'll have a mod lock it.
