Things Rockstar could Leave Out that would Kill V

What are some things that Rockstar could leave out that would basically kill the game for you?

IMO it's ALL or nothing for them at this point. They HAVE to include everything from ps2/xbox's San Andreas and then some, or I'll be disappointed. How are you going to have car customization in 1st gen San Andreas, but not the 2nd gen SA? That's unrealistic and taking a step back tbh. Especially since it's based out of LA and Westcoast Customs is one of the biggest and most famous car mod shops in the world.

So yeah if they even went as far as to even think about not adding car customization back in V, it'll pretty much ruin the game for me. I like having freedom, and not be limited in those freedoms. Not saying that won't stop me from buying the game, but if I find out a bunch of other stuff has been taken out, or not reimplemented from the original, then I seriously might consider it. I still have to see what else this game has to offer in the upcoming few trailers before I make my decision.

That's just one of many things. But I was interested in some of the things that would kill GTA V for you, if you found out weren't making a return to the series, or some stuff that they haven't added, but you've been anticipating they add with this one?

For me it will be Planes. I know the trailer shows planes but it's unconfirmed if we can fly them. If we can't, I will be very disappointed and V would be ruined for me.

What would kill GTA V for me? Another jumbled mess of a story like in SA. Actually if it's just LS and surrounding areas it should be fine. Not being a government spy for hire stealing green goo and sh*t like that.

I hope the story is equally as awesome as GTA IV was.

Yeah, I agree on both.

They should not take things out that are present in SA 1st gen.

If they do, I might consider it too.

Yer, after seeing how big Los Santos is in this game just from the trailer and snippets of the countryside/mountains - that's without what they haven't shown us yet (It's the first trailer, it's obvious theres more to see) i'd be extremely disappointed to not be able to fly planes than anything else!

I'm just so glad they're doing a multiplayer again, this game will be awesome! inlove.gif

Yeah that's a fair one. Especially since they teased the sh*t out of everyone in their very first trailer with aircraft.

Another one is Mansions, vacation homes, businesses that generate revenue, etc. I want to be able to travel from property to property, park my car in the garages, hang out on my beach front property, or lake front property like a log cabin in the mountains, watch the sunset, etc. Enjoy the beautiful GTA world, from beyond a crime spree perspective.

I want to have places to go that I feel I earned along the way, and I can retire and just roam the world when it's all said and done. Drive or fly to my different acquired property. I don't want a bunch of run down apartments or shacks with street parking spaces out front. I want to live the highlife. That includes being able to customize my cars that way they're unique to their own. I hate that I see my same exact car all the time in IV. I want my own flavor to add to the game, not have the same repetitive vehicles the AI get to drive.

It wouldnt KILL GTA:V for me, but i will be somewhat disappointed if there is no decent amphibious car in it.

In SA we had the hovercraft as amphibious vehicle, but it sucked on the road.

I really want to see a car with wheels that can go in the water as well. Even a tracked/army aphibious vehicle would be ok.

It's quite a small thing. But it annoyed me largely.

GTAIII Perennial. icon14.gif

GTAVC Perennial. icon14.gif

GTASA Perennial. icon14.gif

GTAVCS Perennial. icon13.gif

GTALCS Perennial. icon13.gif

GTAIV Perennial. angry.gificon13.gif

So what, yes it's a singular vehicle. But it was an icon of the III era. Everyone loved the Perennial. Even to the extent OnePiece's HD car pack was practically finished off with the Perennial and it was planned that way for hype.

But come GTAIV when I first got in that Honda Oddessy remake and the title Perennial appeared, my heart sunk.

GTA V better not ruin the Perennial for me again...

That car kind of sucks.

Hands down the best car to ever grace ANY GTA game PERIOD..

is III's Mafia Sentinel.

It wouldn't kill it, and there's been no mention of it at all, but I would be sorely disappointed if there's no monster truck hidden somewhere around the city. When I seen the mountains that's the first thing that came into my head and It'd kick ass (as would a quad bike, but monster truck would be a bigger priority, in my opinion).

I'd also be disappointed if the current police lightbar lighting effect doesn't get changed.

More seriously, i'd be a bit upset if the map was built in a way that clearly showed they didn't care about the countryside and just tacked it on at the last minute because people wanted one in there. Someone suggested before on a forum i read, and the idea actually became popular, but I despised it, i'd hate if they introduced a 'grapple' system for stealing cars (where the person could fight back, or it'd be easier to steal from little old ladies than it would be to steal from young men, as they'd put up more of a fight, etc.). It already takes long enough to get into a car in IV (and it feels like it's taking forever when the Police are shooting you while you try to take a car!) so that'd be a big buzzkill for me.

To be honest, I think they have a winning formula, though. They'd have to do a lot wrong to make it suck. If they put the LA Noire driving mechanics in it....

Never said it was a good car. It was just iconic.

And I do quite love III's Mafia Sentinel.

But they sort of did that justice in IV. It even got it's on little pun with the Sentinel Tuning Devision logo.

The car customization is pretty high up there for me. I loved IV but to this day I don't understand the decision not to include that. I mean, you were friends with Brucie, a guy how ran a customization garage... it was practically written in to be able to do it but intead if you wanted your car to look different you had to go to pay'n spray over and over again until you go the color you wanted. Dumb. The other customization options that were missing from IV are ab it of a sore point as well. I mean IV's characters and setting were way better for me than San Andreas (I'm the son of New Yorkers and most of my friends are foreigners) but it was nowhere near replayable because in SA you could make CJ look different everytime, have him do different side missions, have him drive a different car, have him buy different houses etc. IV was really really really lacking in those areas and it made it so that once you had played through three times you had basically done everything there was to do.

Gang wars/running a gang is something else that I really enjoyed in SA and VCS. It was nice that TLAD sorta had it, but it was as fun as you weren't really gaining anything from it other than money... it was fun to get territories in SA and new businesses in VCS and that would be nice to see as well. I know that R* didn't want Niko to be a Tony Montana or CJ type but they could have had him say work for the various gangs. He could have called Packie, Jacob, Phil, etc and helped their gangs gain territory or other various jobs and then get a benefit off of it. It would have been way cooler than bowling. They could also do something like maybe if you worked for the Russians via Petrovic the Italians would refuse to work with you and you wouldn't be able to get their unlockable bonus. It would be cool if they could bring something like that to this game.

The ability to climb up the very tops of the mountains we see in the trailer. If we can only get as far as those sims-like people, I'd be so frustrated..

Not having a full San Andreas. LS, SF, LV.

Not able to swin underwater.

Not able to access the mountain for travel.

Not able to fly an airplane.

planes, lack of exploration (if they added "invisible walls"), and if they made a very ugly character.

Knives, and an interesting story. And perhaps another city.

As long as R* improve on IV (and the EFLC), and don't take a step back, I'll be happy.

I wouldn't say this would kill GTAV for me, but it would definitely put a damper on it, and that's lack of good side missions. Things like coming across random characters like in IV or RDR, was fun, but I felt even then they lacked something more. I hope the side missions are just as important in their own way, than the main storyline.

lack of anything from the old SA, i'd love to see a lot of the stuff from the 2004 version revived, it would suck if it was all scrapped. meaning i would like to drive through some of the old hoods from the past SA and see the new generation of ballas, aztecas and grove street gangsters. money generating properties would be awesome too but it wouldn't kill it for me if it got left out. planes and character/car customization are a must though

Why don't you go play Flight Simulator if that one aspect will destroy the game for you?

Customization.

CJ had GREAT customization compared to Niko. That needs to return in a big way.

If we don't have a huge selection of clothes to be bought from lots of different shops, the ability to cut our hair and wear jewelry, I'd be very disappointed.

Same with car customization. Just as you said in the OP, it would be a huge step backwards and that would be very disappointing.

I did love T-boning them each time I got a chance to. They always rolled a few feet before stopping and bursting into flames.
