jdrandall38
Now that we all have seen the dog in the trailer, do you think we will see other types of animals (other than birds)? Say there are bears, wouldn't it be awesome to throw a grenade at one or shoot them with a rocket launcher? This may be the only reason they don't include other animals though because Rockstar knows that people would try to blow these animals to smithereens. What do you think? CJfoo
I think people who want to blow up bears with a grenade because it's cool are the reason there are no animals in previous GTA games. I highly doubt there will be many animals besides dogs, and I do NOT think you will be able to kill dogs. As for bears, mountain lions, etc. Sure, if THEY attack YOU first, like you are hiking and suddenly, BAM, a mountain lion drops down off a rock above you and starts clawing you, then it would seem okay to kill it in self defense. It would have to be something where the creature spawns only rarely and you never know where or when. But not in the sense that you can go out into the woods, see a bear by a tree, and blast it into red chunks with an RPG or something.... PETA and other groups would be right up Roskstar's ass in a HURRY if they did that. Yet people say, killing animals is so bad, and I agree it is, yet nobody ever mentions THIS IS A GAME ABOUT KILLING HUMAN BEINGS lol why does everyone ignore that fact? I think if you can kill people you should be able to kill animals too, but I think they will want to avoid that controversy so i doubt they will put them in. Any animals you see will probably be cutscenes only.
grope_4_that_date
I really think the Los Angeles Zoo should be in the game. It opens up so many possibilities: freeing animals into the street, missions involving dressing up as a zookeeper and killing a prized endangered 'gorilla', modding, etc.
Slamman
I can't see much of a chance of any hunting, as RDR fans have said, that was more part and parcel to Red Dead then any GTA past or present, so it's just not gonna happen, the need for hunting could be sated by use of just guns or knives with any animal that is in the game, but it won't be like RDR I'm afraid

And with GTA's weapons it'd be a bit different...out there with a M4 or an AK-47 killing Bears seems like a bit much...not to mention illegal. Hunting mini-games, with the right attire and equipment, otherwise there's no fun in killing anything with an RPG, I'm afraid.

Good point, if it's self defense yes it's ok, but if you're actively gunning for them...that's another story lol. I wouldn't mind it as a Minigame, where you actually go out with a Proper rifle say the Sniper from GTA since it was based off of a Remington 700 I believe, which is the same design as allot of rifles used for hunting in the USA. jdrandall38
I see the argument that wild animals getting gunned down in this era of time would be unethical. But guess what people, we are talking about Grand Theft Auto. The same game that lets you pick up a hooker, pay her, then kill her to get your money back. A bit unethical in itself. Rockstar will continue to push the envelope when it comes to these issues. Why not include hunting for sport. Sure they are defenseless but not if they come clawing after you. Thats what I hope they do anyways, add another element to the game.
