Ispintechno
Hope to see some gore in this game. Not comic book over the top, but some brain matter on the wall behind the guy you shot in the face, or red mist on bullet impact to the body etc. Maybe make grenades/explosive impacts a bit more gory than GTAs have previously shown. Up the realism in internal anatomy a little. Add a little Dexter to it.
Noob_Noobersson
Obviously Im all for realism in gaming, the more realistic = the more immersive. But when applied to GTA I think a problem arises- the more realistic it gets, the more weird going on rampages get. They definitely haven't gotten to that point yet, but Im just thinking, I mean take the extreme- a gta game with photo realistic graphics, unique npc models and unique dialogue as well. That would be really f*cking dark!!!! Shooting a photo realistic woman screaming for help??? Im not down for that sh*t. So Im worried as technology gets better, we are gonna get closer and closer to that point. its weird for me because on one hand I would love for gta 5 to step up the realism, but maybe not too much. Going by the trailer, obviously its not yet at the point where Im not gonna go on rampages. But like kiling some of those characters- like the campers- that could get a little weird. I think you are losing sight of the fact that these are video games....its fantasy, its entertainment, and most of all; its not something that you have to buy/explore.... GTA offers fans the ability to do a lot of heinous things that people cannot do in real life..It's an outlet for inner and outward frustrations and stress...and for the people who buy these games---they have the ability to just go out and rampage/slaughter countless npc's who just might try to get away running and screaming.... But we won't let them---their screams fall on deaf ears as we pull out an rpg and blow a hole through their insides---in the midst of it, we don't think about this screaming, crying woman as someone's daughter, wife, or mother---we just see her as bloody pixels splattered all over a wall.... If that messes with your moral compass, then I don't know what to say---I guess I'm saying, the woman isn't real, the cries aren't real, the pistol isn't real, the blood isn't real, and at the end of the rampage--no one really gets hurt... If these kinds of fantasies aren't your bag....then maybe stick to other kinds of games......
iGrandTheftAuto
If it is too realistic for you, and you don't like it, then don't play it.
VaroSpain
TOO REALISTIC???? Oh my god this is the most stupid topic i've ever read so far..
Buffalo Soldier
I get what you're saying. It will obviously be an issue in a few years time, perhaps sooner - which is a scary thought.
aarshoofd
It's kinda sick that everybody wants to kill and torture civilians...it just indicates that they actually want to do that in real life, but they can't because of the consequences...when GTA gets more realistic, civilians will look and act more realistic, so I guess it will excite some emotions, because you almost think you kill a real civilian, which may be good, because you'll probably develop a sort of aversion for violence. But eventually, is will be disturbing for some people. Killing is not a bad thing, in case you have to kill some bad guys, but when you see that all the organs fall out and there is blood everywhere, it will make me feel uncomfortable. Luckily, I don't play GTA for killing and torturing people, I just play it because of the wonderful environment and atmosphere. But when you have to complete a mission, it may be just the case that you have to kill tons of bad guys, and I think that for me, it will be uncomfortable to kill those guys because it will get bloody and messy, and I don't really like blood and organs and stuff. Realism will only benefit the game, but I think it won't benefit the violence.
Noob_Noobersson
wonderful atmosphere----you mean wonderful criminal fantasy.... Also....their is no such thing as good guys and bad guys---there are just people......they are not inherently good or bad.....
OFWGKTA
I play GTA to have fun and f*ck around. Not to get my anger out of the way.. If you can't handle GTA, don't play it.
aarshoofd
Yes they are, the story implicates that they are bad guys, like that Dmitri guy from GTA IV, at least, I thought he was a bad guy. GTA isn't just criminality, it's recreation/parody of the world, in which you can do all kinds of criminal stuff, but you don't have to...
GR7
I'm sure we'll never get to that point, sure the technology will be there but I think R* will eventualy go for something more stylistic possibly more cartoonish like III era artwork possibly cel shaded or something more realistic like IV's it would also give them a reason to make the gameplay more arcadey. Imagine if they made a whole game that looked exactly like this.
