    • Damage system 2: being able to total car at 30mph plus.

I think that the vehicle damage from Grand Theft Auto IV was fine. It was realistic, but it wasn't over the top in my opinion. I don't see why Rockstar should change vehicle damage in Grand Theft Auto V.

Awesome damage modelling, but takes lots of CPU power to run sad.gif

 

My laptop runs GTA4 on decent setting with 25+ fps, but that game really brought my laptop down to its knees sad.gif

The damage in that video actually looks pretty neat. Lots of clipping, though., and the car kinda seems like it's made of plastic. Still, I think somewhere between that and Burnout: Paradise style damage would be good.

i hope they tweak it a bit. IV damage was cool but i noticed that it had sort of a warping/stretching affect to it. they should fix that.

It's not that people don't like realistic car damage, it's the effect it would have on gameplay.

 

In reality, it doesn't take a whole lot to total a car. They wouldn't even stand a fraction of

.

 

Most racing games can afford to have ultra-realistic damage since usually when you wreck the car just resets itself. In GTA you'd have to ditch it and grab a new one. Which can be a pain if A) There's nothing else around, or B) The abundance of traffic is what's causing the mess to begin with.

I'd like it to be the same as in IV, but have more than just doors, hoods, and trunk lids fly off in crashes.
