Maybe its about getting a 9 to 5 and taking your kids to daycare.

Oh, and picking up milk and eggs from the corner 24/7 store.

Somewhat like the protagonist's dream, or whoever was talking during the trailer.

It's been said before, but I'm betting Riches to Rags to Riches.

There's no reason for the game to end in riches. Tommy and CJ went from rags to riches, Claude and Niko just went from rags to rags, Claude managed to get into the project housing by the end though which was a step up from loading bays.

i agree. just from what he says in the trailer i think this is what will happen.

"I wanted to retire from what I was doing,

You know, from that, that line of work,

Be a good guy for once, a family man,

So, I bought a big house, came here, put my feet up,

Thought I'd be a dad like all the other dad's,

My kids, will be like the kids on TV, we play ball and sit in the sun,

But, well, you know how it is."

he was making money but it was too risky so he "retired", then he got caught up in something and got poor and was forced to go back to what he knows so he could support himself and his family.

Hopefully, every GTA is starting off poor and making it to the big time, I wish it was harder to be rich it's annoying when Niko for example says he needs the money yet he has half a million sitting in the bank :|

How about a "banker" being exposed for his corporate crimes and then reduced to a life of (relative) poverty??

Apparently being poor is a big part of this game, so why exclude the main character from it?

I think he has it all and suddenly, everything is taken away from him.

-His entire family (wife and kids) get murdered by a former foe

-They lock his accounts making him poor and unable to live at his "big house"

-He has to work from the bottom up all over again, getting aqquainted with the local gangs

-All leads to him being rich again and killing those who killed his family.

That sounds most likely to me.

Obviously the story is about making money, so you won't be able to make it easily as in previous games, where the money was practically worthless at a certain point.

But clearly he starts out with money if he can buy a big house in the Hollywood hills at the beginning.

So it will be like the beginning of San Andreas when Tenpenny takes CJ's money and CJ starts out broke I think, although probably on a bigger scale. Probably loses his money due to the failing economy and has to get back into a life of crime to recover it.

Totally agree with your thoughts man, that's gotta be how it goes.

This could mean not another Rags to Riches story. This may be Riches to Rags.

Riches to rags would be thoroughly unsatisfying... maybe riches to rags to riches though.

Sorry let me just change my opinion to better match yours tounge.gif

With the economic downturn it seems fitting for us to play someone who has and then doesn't have. But if the game ended like that it would be sh*t. It would be like starting a game with all the best gadgets and weapons etc and gradually losing them one by one as you go so that by the end you can only punch. Games don't work that way.

Snake Without a Tongue

Riches to temporary rags until I build myself back up by killing a whole bunch of people and taking their stuff.

I wouldn't say Niko was just where he started, he was well off, a Penthouse in Algonquin, and a good amount of money to keep him and Roman stable for a time. Definitely not riches but he was well off.

But I say this is going to go from rags to riches, it seems that way not only in the logo, but in the Protag's speech, not to mention the foreclosure sign in the house, maybe he monopolizes a criminal empire by the end of the game.

That's what I want.

I mean going riches to rags just isn't rewarding. Having everything, only to lose it and never get it back doesn't provide much incentive to really go on in the game. I mean why sit through a game that's going to sh*t on you?

But going riches to rags and then back to riches is a better idea, because that does give you incentive to move forward. To be rewarded for your labors. It's more fun and allows for more fun in the end knowing you'll come out on top. At least that's how I see it.

Even more annoying than taking stupid girlfriend calls when we know money can't even buy a sh*t to gift them. biggrin.gif

I want every thing in 5 to be not so easy to earn and everything available to spend upon, even the mobiles should be put under recharge just like visiting Well-stacked Pizza for Health.

Maybe, it's riches to riches. He seems to be rich, but after he says: You know how it is.. I just knew he liked crime too much.

OR he could be a italian mobster, because once you are in a family, you never get out.
