I see we seem to be lacking a thread about recording gear and the playback devices, it's been touched on a bit as far as guitar playing amps and effects, but speakers and stereos, iPods and EQs?? Not really seeing that. I request perhaps a pinned thread on that

Kicking it off with some historical find/s, as I like to do, explore the evolutions of things

Piracy? The golden age of mix tapes, dude. And I did neglect mention of DVD, but even more so in the evolutionary scope, DVD-Audio disc and Super Audio CD, Aka SACD

A place here for discussion about parametric EQ, subwoofers, what stereos, portable or otherwise, you may have had the pleasure of using?

Recall the Rack home stereo system? One where component selection is already done for you, all in a rack with record holder and speakers on either side? I started with an Akai in that variety, and Mura Steppin' Out portable system! ...had a Sanyo cassette AMFM walkman as my first portable tape player, using 4 AA batteries, costing $72 at the time. My first CD portables were Citizen brand! Not bad considering! haha
