ImGuest
Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out what am I missing here, I've a system that is way over the minimum and recommended specifications to run GTA IV, but the game is still running on low FPS. On the Benchmark I get max of 20 fps on the HIGH settings and when I lower the resolution, texture, distance and disble shadow I get like 30 fps maximum. (native resolution is 1920x1200) The PC is running Windows 7 64bit and is totally clean of malware or anything. Any ideas why this should happen? Notice the Game-o-meter score is pretty wrong because my garphics card is much better than what is recommended (also 1GB) Thank you.
SlaveZer0
turn your shadows down let us know your game settings please
Garfield 2
It just works like this. It's a crappy game. I had my Q9400 overclocked to 3GHz with a GTX 260 onboard which is a better card, and on 1680 x 1050, high details except shadows which were on medium, I had an average of 27 fps... ImGuest
I attached a list of benchmarks I did, including all settings. Each one is using different settings, the first 4 are using my native resolution, and last 4 are on 1680 x 1050 (still 16:10). http://www.mediafire.com/?2hoi27iaid1amcm
Garfield 2
Interesting. But other than that low quality benchmark, the rest seems to be in order.
ImGuest
Yeah I know that, but why does it happen and how can it be resolved? Edited November 5, 2011 by ImGuest

.Olbricht.
Lower your res. If you don't want to, get a better card.
OverTheBelow
Yeah, you shouldn't really be expecting much more than 30fps at low-medium at that resolution with a 5670.
Exxon
... and about the 'crappy game' thing, look at the link in my signature. But OTB is right, the HD 5670 surely isn't the strongest card out there
unc13bud
the others are right. lower the resolution, or get a video card with more shader capability
