There are a lot of South Asian gangstas in Toronto and New York, not as an independent organization though, just in the projects and what not. They more or less just dress like typical gang members. But yeah I don't think there's many like that in LA.

The problem only gets worth the further north you go, in places like Bradford and Leicester people get killed by Asians just for being white. But in the US it would be unfeasible, perhaps in Canada.

 

I imagine that GTA V will focus heavily on Mexican drug cartels, the setting in terms of location and time period fit perfectly for it.

Well I'm from London and I can tell you for sure that South Asian gangs in my city are not known for being feared or having a reputation for being very violent. In London, most of the gangs that are very much feared are either Black British street gangs and drug crews, Turkish and Albanian criminal groups and the traditional White British crime groups like the East End 'firms' and the Adams Crime Family. You hardly get any Black vs South Asian gang conflict in London, because South Asian gangs don't offer the Black gangs any kind of real competition when it comes to violent conflict, they are just that not that strong enough in London. Maybe in Bristol and further up North, but definitely not so in London. Most of the South Asian gangs and criminal groups in London are generally into non-violent levels of drug-dealing, many kinds of fraud, counterfeit, and other scams.

 

The beef between South Asians and white people in certain parts of the UK you mentioned is not necessarily due to gang warfare as such, its more to do with the fact that South Asians have experienced decades of racial abuse, harrassment and marginalisation from the larger white community (in many cases, more than Blacks) and it is their way of fighting back and protecting themselves, thus forming gangs to achieve this.

 

I'm not saying that there are no violent South Asian gangs criminals in London, I'm sure there is. It is just nowhere near the level you are saying it is in your hometown of Bristol or elsewhere, as in up North of the UK. Anyway, South Asian gangs in GTA ? A definite no, they do not figure in the US gang scene at all. No point in mentioning Canada, as I cannot see GTA being set there. We will see the gangs that exist in real-life, present-day Southern California, its a simple formula.

Then I'm sure you'll be happy. There wasn't much mafia at all in San Andreas, I'm sure R* knows what's up in that regard. I'm willing to bet it'll be mostly black/Hispanic gangs, as well as some Asian...maybe eastern European too, but that last one's just speculating. I wouldn't be surprised if the Italian mafia is extremely minimized, they don't have near the pull in Cali like they do out East.

In GTA IV we got the Italians, Russians, Irish, Albanians, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Jamaicans, Afro-Americans, Caucasian Americans and Chinese. So i think we can expect a sortlike amount of gangs again.

Considering its LA, definitely lots of black and hispanic street gangs. Some asian ones too with a triad presence (especially if San Fierro ends up getting included). Its funny watching out of towners talk about LA street gangs.

Let me get some things straight..

 

Yes it is true LA isnt back like how it was in the 80s/early 90s where south central, compton, inglewood was like 80% black. But even today, the crips and bloods are still powerful.

Florencia 13 had a beef with a crip set(East Coast Crips) in their hood, which is only like 10% black IF that. Despite the ECC being out numbered they only had 3 deaths while F13 had like 8 or 9.

And the westside of south central is still a black stronghold. By westside im talking about baldwin village aka the jungles, crenshaw etc..As well as inglewood. These are areas where black gangs rule supreme. The eastside of south central is where mexican gangs tend to have more power, but this is where the war between ECC and F13 took place(as i talked about previously) and you can see the black gangs still hold their own against them. Eastside South central is where you have Watts and Compton also borders it, which is neither ran by black gangs or mexican gangs.

As for as MS13, no gang in LA is scared of them lol. They have a little turf in LA and they STAY getting clapped up by 18th street. As far as 18th street, they tried to take over the jungles(a stronghold for P stone bloods, where training day was filmed) and they were getting killed left and right for it, so they went back to their own hood.

 

The real gang life in LA looks like this:

F13 beefs with other mexican gangs and crips however they are not a racist gang as they are cool with some blood sets.

18th street beefs with ms13 and other gangs, and some black gangs, tho they have beef amongst themselves as well.

Crips arent even a gang, thats just an umbrella.

Rollin 60s crips tend to beef with hoova crims and other gangsta crips as well as blood sets.(This is the westside of south central)

In watts(which is the eastside) Grape street crips tend to beef with Bounty Hunna bloods and PJ watts crips. What makes watts unique is that PJ watts crips team up with Bouny Hunna Bloods to fight Grape street crips. Also another gang in watts the Swan Bloods are cool with Florencia 13 and they both smash on ECC the same.

So yea...its alot more, but its too complex to explain everything.

Tiny Little Rascals- They are a asian blood gang that feuds with surenos.

 

The Mexican SURENO GANGS- Their territories are divided like the COSTA NOSTRA, These are like the 5 families of the Mexican South Side Gangs except not as organized and operate more like the russian mafia.

 

MS -13- Only holds little Territory in Los Angeles specifically in Central and West L.A because its a sub ordinate of the Surenos. They are not all the hype they were told to be by the media, IN REALITY THEY ARE NOT A SALVADORIAN GANG!!!! THEY HAVE MORE MEXICANS in their gang. Similar to PAVANO.

I may be wrong and I loved San Andreas and would love to play in the gang warfare zone that we saw with that game, but I don't really think it will happen.

Ive lived in la for about 20 years since my parents moved here. You don't really hear about gangs that much in the news, I have a friend who lives in watts I've stayed a few nights at his place, lots of gunshots, drugs, gangs, here. Even though gta V will be based on money I do think street gangs or larger operations will be a factor

The reason you dont hear about mafias in LA is because they are SMART. organized crime runs LA, not a bunch of gang bangers running around killing each other. gang bangers dont wear luxury suits and travel out of there hometown for a reason- theyre not smart! if they were smart they would have money and movies made about them other than a coke dealer who makes it big for small period of of time b4 being killed. yes, there will be street gangs in this version, if you dont agree you dont know sh*t about LA. but the power will be with the mafia, especially if this game is centered around money.

Fair play, my Ideal though of the new San Andreas map is that it would definitely be Los Santos, R* will probably make it more big and detailed than the previous, Also I'm hoping for the map to cover LA and surrounding Regions so I'm hoping we'll get cities like Riverside, San Bernadino and stuff like that.

 

I was hoping a little bit of Mexico because that would fit nicely for Drug cartels.
