Mafioso86 Posted November 7, 2011 Share Posted November 7, 2011 I really doubting that the "gangbanger" type gangs will play a huge role not because I don't like them or because I'm a "racist hilllbilly" but based on the trailer and what I think modern LA's organized crime scene is about. I may be wrong and I loved San Andreas and would love to play in the gang warfare zone that we saw with that game, but I don't really think it will happen. Matty Posted November 7, 2011 Share Posted November 7, 2011 I can definitely say that there will be a gang that is Korean in Grand Theft Auto V - the "Little Seoul" road-sign that can be seen in the trailer at around 0:32 is kind of a dead give-away that a gang based off of the Korean ethnicity will be present in Grand Theft Auto V. I am also sure that there will be different gangs based on the Bloods and Crips - they no doubt necessarily be called their official names though, and I don't expect the gangs to be named the "Ballas" or "Grove Street Families" either. I think though that there will be different sets for these gangs that was referenced to in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but never really played a large role outside the story. I think that the sets of these gangs will play a more significant role in Grand Theft Auto V. In relation to this, no doubt we will also see some Mexican or Latin based gangs also thrown into the mix (one of the characters seen in the trailer is Mexican/Latin American). Outside of the ghetto though, the Russian mafia I think will return in Grand Theft Auto V as an actual gang. Along with no doubt a couple of biker gangs, also. Other than that, it is very likely that we will see Grove street. If there is Grove Street; again, it is very likely that we will see Varios Los Aztecas and Los Santos Vagos. I am also certain that we will see a return of street gangs based on the major LA factions however in the 21st century the divides within the crips and bloods make it far less defined on who hates who. What really intrigues me is who we will be affiliated with... My guess definitely would have to be the republicans or more specific the tea party movement and you traverse Los santos blasting liberals to bits with your bible of truth and staff of deception... Sanjeem Posted November 12, 2011 Share Posted November 12, 2011 I think we will see the Mafia, and probably some ghetto street gangs. The Italian Mafia actually has very little influence in LA. Something tells me it won't be very gang heavy. More like small-time criminals selling drugs from the boot of their car, very little in the way of large scale organizations. I think after San Andreas they'll have moved on from the gangbanger types too. Maybe we will see Mafia in Vegas, even there now they are not what they used to be back in the 70's-80's but I'm sure they are still involved in the traditional shake downs, drug trafficking and other rackets. They just don't own a lot of the Casino's and have lost their friends in the Teamsters unions. That being said, the mob in vegas shouldn't be counted out. Just lower profile.
