spiderman3000 Posted November 4, 2011 Share Posted November 4, 2011 I just don't get why R* would put San Andreas on the license plates of the cars instead of Los Santos. Now, I get that LS is in San Andreas, but that doesn't mean that it should be written San Andreas on the license plates. It's just not right. That's like saying the car is from San Andreas but you are only allowed to explore Los Santos and its surroundings nothing more, no other cities(San An had three). R* wouldn't do such a blunder. Realism perhaps? I might be wrong... but don't cars in LA have 'California' on the license plate, not 'Los Angeles'? Even if they do(I don't live there), would it make sense if they only had LS and the countryside while all the remaining San Andreas is nowhere to be found? Like, if we go via a plane and cross the mountains, we would probably only see the water.... Now that isn't realism. Meh, I still think there's a chance they're doing the whole of San Andreas. Whatever they're doing though, the map has to end somewhere. The only way I can see how they would be able to replicate Southern Cali is by probably making the mountain impossible to climb and having invisible walls to keep people from going out of the map. They didn't need to add anything more than Liberty City in IV(since III was in Liberty City and it was also surrounded by water). San Andreas on the PS2 had the whole state. Now, if those players would play GTA V, which I am sure they would, wouldn't they be, like, disappointed to see that more than half of the map of SA is missing? The rumor from the "numbers game" is that GTA 5 will have 5 locations, 5 characters, "5 bullets, 5 letters", and Vegas was suggested as one of those, 5 protagonists that could depend on where you buy the game, determining who you play as and where you start off. Obviously this version of San Andreas is so much bigger than the previous one, they're only making a chunk of it - which includes LS. As for the plate, stop being so f*cking dense. What do think the plates are going to say? Florida? New Austin? The plates in IV said Liberty because it was Liberty State. I'm not a big fan of DLC as it is... but DLC for content a lot of people expect to be in the game anyway? sure it aint practical, but it can be done, maybe they're just giving us one city at a time to pace us, don't get me wrong i would love the entire San Andreas map, i loved San Andreas on the ps2/xbox i still own it, but i'd rather have them release one city at a time being highly detailed, than them rush it and put all 3 on one disc? In which was not really neccesay if we had really beleived what was shown to us in the trailer. R* implies twice in their announcement that it is not going to be the entire San Andreas 2) It is set in the "city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches" - excluding SF and LV 3) It is set in "present day Southern California." - Excluding SF and LV The only reason for any comfusion about the location at this point is either (1) wishfull thinking or (2) the belief that R* is straight out lieing to us. Adressing the counter arguments: 1) Planes and only one city? "the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created" is most likely at least the same size as SA, and it would take as long to fly through it. 2) Planes and only one airport? Los angeles has more than one airport; so could Los Santos 3) San andreas number plates? Just a realistic touch in Rockstar fashon. We know that in the GTA universe Los Santos is in the San Andreas 4) Locations shown in trailer are not in the LA eviroment? If you do some research you will see that all are Bottom line: The arguements for the game covering entire San Andreas falls flat compared to the words of Rockstar. As for the protagonist(s), I admit that it is kinda unclear compared to previous GTA debut trailers. But that is definatly Rockstars intention. GTA:SA's first trailer also made it clear that game was set only in Los Santos. Oh wait... 2) They haven't said no to SF or LV. Maybe it is just wishful thinking, but I don't think we can absolutely rule out the rest of San Andreas yet. Not until Rockstar flat out refute all of the speculation. They should pack what they can onto a blu-ray and not be limited to a dvd. That is just dumb and not using the potential of the PS3. I think the license plat point is good. San Andreas, in the world of GTA, includes three cities. If it takes place in SA it must include the other cities. A game is a universe and so SA is a universe.
