Tequila Sunset
its starting to become a bit frustrating now, or is it just me? in gta 4's first trailer it was clear that the protagonist was niko, and the location was liberty city but in this one? you see like 3 characters all muddled together and not a proper location yet san andreas on the number plates but all we see is los santos knowing rockstar they have probably done all this on purpose for morons like me to guess but its having the opposite affect, just frustrating location and who is the character? thats what most of us want to know just clear it up please rockstar its doing my head in
DawidZnawca
I think the main character wasn't in the trailer, he only narrated. But there are 4 guys that would confirm the "5 protagonists" rumor.

super_slav
I would hate multiple characters. They shpuld save that for DLC.
GTAV2011
5 protagonists is taking the piss and will never happen. There will be one. This is GTA. If there are 3 then two will be DLC. Just my opinion, but also a little bit of common sense thrown in there too
Ratone
It's sort of confusing. But I think people are making it way more than it should be. City is Los Santos and it's surroundings countrysides and deserts, but people are wet dreaming that rockstar is hiding las venturas and san fierro. No they aren't. About who the protagonist is, it is sort of confusing, but I really can see more than one protagonist now. Not in the sense that you can play the whole game with this or that dude, but that you'll be able to play specific parts of the game with other characters. SmC12
It's not supposed to be clear, that's the point. Because it has you asking the questions, which is exactly what they want. It gets people speculating, discussing, and hyped. All are good things. It's a first trailer, you don't really want to know who he is at this point, it takes all the excitement and discussion away. Los Santos is located in the state of San Andreas. The answer probably is that simple.

xUSMC SSGTx
Maybe there are three protags - one for each city. Also, more than one protag would make for good co-op campaign play.

El Zilcho
I think the reason we don't have a clear protagonist is because there isn't one - there appear to be 2 or even 3 protags in V. U R B A N I T A S
WF the Hobgoblin
The location: Los Santos, SA. The protagonist: An unnamed white male, 47 years old and native to Liberty City. Having amassed a considerable wealth as a career criminal, he decides to retire from the life of crime in LC and build a new one in the golden state. Of course things don't always go to plan. Pure conjecture of course.
Over_the_hill
san andreas on the number plates but all we see is los santos Why is this still being talked about? It was on the license plate because Los Santos is in San Andreas. It's the same way Los Angeles is in California and they have california on their license plates. It isn't relevant at all. spiderman3000
I just don't get why R* would put San Andreas on the license plates of the cars instead of Los Santos. Now, I get that LS is in San Andreas, but that doesn't mean that it should be written San Andreas on the license plates. It's just not right. That's like saying the car is from San Andreas but you are only allowed to explore Los Santos and its surroundings nothing more, no other cities(San An had three). R* wouldn't do such a blunder. It didn't have the name of the protagonist on the license plate, does that mean the protagonist has no name or perhaps there isn't a protagonist? No, you have obviously never seen a car in real life becuase, if you had you would understand that a vehicle in Los Santos would have "San Andreas" on it becuase "San Andreas" is the state that the vehicle would have been sold. Even if they do(I don't live there), would it make sense if they only had LS and the countryside while all the remaining San Andreas is nowhere to be found? Like, if we go via a plane and cross the mountains, we would probably only see the water.... Now that isn't realism.

Just my opinion, but also a little bit of common sense thrown in there too But remember, Rockstar recently said they aren't afraid to change and imo I think GTA V is taking a whole different direction. I wouldn't mind various protagonists myself, it would be cool to have a story for each or the same story but different perspectives or different abilities for each character.
