How long until we get a lot of info?

They obviously wanna build suspense but if there is a release of within 6 months then when would you expect first waive of info to hit?

It's sporadic really. I was looking at news releases on IGN for SA, GTA 4, etc. and R* employed different marketing tactics for each. Since MP3's going to see a March 2012 release date, I would guess more info should come by the end of the month. It's a shame that the news of GTA 5 is bogging down the MP threads over on the R* website

I'm worried in development means it could be a while away...

Besides that, think they will remain a gap between the MP release and GTA V

If I remember correctly it always seems like the first trailer comes out only a couple months before the actual release of gta games. (other than IV because of the delay)

Max Payne 3 will now be their main attention, then they can go back to GTA again. In the meantime I think it is likely the press will have some exclusives, maybe a month or two? Very hard to judge, R* like revealing stuff when you least expect it.

Am I the only one who hopes for a surprise release before Christmas this year? (November-December)

I mean, they gave us 7 days notice of the trailer, and got a f*ck load of viewers. They can do anything they want and still garner the attention and money.

It will probably be out 2nd or 3rd quarter of next year. If we're lucky we'll get some more major info, like a trailer, by Christmas.

Now that's a good question. I can't make a guess, but it would be during a time where you come to check the forums, getting bored of nothing new regarding GTA V, and then boom! Game Informer magazine has GTA V on the cover for their next issue. I hope that would happen sooner than later. If we are to get the game during Spring 2012 according to the current speculations, which is something I doubt, then this year won't be gone without Game Informer's issue for GTA V.

could be days, months, years, decades, centuries, MILLENIUMS

nah prob December time. Hopefully no rough delay this time. And this time Rockstar gave us a pretty good trailer for a first trailer. I remember when GTA4 came out they just mainly showed off the city and had a few words at the end.

I'm fully expecting the next issue of Game Informer magazine to have GTAV on the cover and feature 10 or more pages detailing ALL SORTS OF STUFF. They did it for GTAIV and they also did it for GTA:San Andreas.

It's simple: GTA is the biggest series in video games, Rockstar is the most popular company in gaming, and Game Informer is THE UNDISPUTED greatest video game magazine out there, one that treats the industry with maturity and respect and lends a lot of validation to the games they cover.

So if it's not the next issue, it will be the one after that. And they will NOT put something in the cover if they don't have a big story on it.... yet this is the biggest news in gaming for a WHILE, and so it's SURE to be in the next issue... I am sure GI has been to Rockstar's offices, played the game, gotten interviews, has exclusive screenshots and information, etc.

We will know more soon! And, if you don't have a subscription to GI then you can get one super cheap at Gamestop, $10 for a 12 month subscription plus a card that saves you money on any games you buy in Gamestop.

And if you still can't afford that you can go to Walmart and read the issue right next to the magazine rack! Or read the info here as people report it back to the forums when they read it.

Full development is difficult. I duno what it means. confused.gif

That means all the Attention is now on GTA V with developing it, soo alll them little workers at Rockstar's office who make sh*t happen, are making sh*t happen basically.

I really like this thread, kudos to the topic starter.

Pretty hard to say when we can expect more info. Assuming R* is using a 4-6 months window of marketing the game, thus having GTA:V released in may/june 2012, i'd say like some already said before me, somewhere in december a website or some screenshots should get online.

Fair to say we won't see anything new the rest of november/begin december.

Which leaves us waiting and anticipating for at least a month.

Cant stand the wait, i want to ruin the perfect grass of the golf course with my Audio R8 tounge.gif

I want something official by Rockstar to just come out which proves this guy wrong. It would be better knowing he is not legitimate than actually paying attention to his posts, getting absorbed with each additional detail he gives (which might turnout to not be true anyway).

Next year's E3 will probably have some footage for us. But along the way, small trailers or maybe hardly any (like Max Payne 3.)

I'd actually like to hear whether or not they have a legitimate reason for not doing E3. Because without one, it just seems kind of obnoxious; to the fans/BUYERS who would appreciate info and to the rest of the video gaming industry who actually shows up to the event because it makes it seem like Rockstar is too good for E3, which honestly they aren't (GTA truly is amazing and enjoyable and all, but yeah, not an immortal being among all other video games).

Next trailer will be December, but it won't be until the new year that we start hearing some detailed info on the game.

Yeap, agreed, probably looking at about a month for more info.

Rockstar with all their GTA's have been slow with information, First you get the trailer/announcement.. then you wait wait wait, then you get something new.

Eventually they'll start hammering us with info, like they did with Vice City, San Andreas and IV.

So many things I wanna know about V.

Anticipation is such a fun part of the GTA series.

Oh yeah, I forgot. But I'm sure we'll see something released around the E3 time, they have done that before.
