The reason was never revealed, but there are a lot of rumours: for instance, either coding for the PS3 was difficult (there were complaints from a few developers about this at the time) or that they had to rethink the game and remove content because they couldn't fit it all on one xbox360 DVD (this rumour might actually be based on the idea that a lot of content was dropped for SA for the same sort of reason). While they can release it on a Thursday if they wanted to, it wouldn't make any sense from a marketing point of view. Major games are never released on a Thursday, with good reason as well. People are always a lot more likely to buy the game on a Friday, with the weekend upon them. It seems like the most logical day to release a game, for me. Despite that, this date may still mean something. Could it possibly be a day where more important information is released, or where we receive a final release date for the game? irrelevant. Or look at it this way: you've bought V. You've played it to death. There's still a while to go until the DLC. If you haven't already bought it, another game by Rockstar involving shooting might start to like an awfully good investment . . . They don't plan a release date before a game is even made, think about it, that's idiotic, sorry, but it is. They expect us to not reply at all and it will find its way to the bottom. But locking them makes them get there a hell of a lot faster than that! Just one thing to throw some fuel to the fire (not related to numbers): why the GTA5 trailer breakdown is being displayed in the PC area of Gamespot, if it's still not set to be released on PC, and this video isn't part of their programs? I don't think there's anything wrong with releasing 2 completely different styles of games in a similar timeframe. Actually, isn't that even more reason to? Admins (network admins) did have the inside info but the way they used it, thats creative. We all (not the player hater army) noticed how andrew locked Genesis as soon as the announcement came. What it clarifies? Genesis was to keep people interested in the V section. Now we've got an announcement and trailer coming, this is not needed anymore.
