GTA is one of the most successful selling video games of all time, why would you want to jinx another title? I'm 100% sure nobody is really focused on Max Payne 3 now because all the hype about GTA V. Why not wait until Max Payne is released then announce GTA V? GTA V will bring more attention to Rockstar and Max Payne 3. They still have 4 mores to go until launch so Im sure they have plenty of time to push Max back into the lime light. They know that everything they release will be analysed to death. Take the fact the map of GTA IV was found and even Dan was like, we didn't expect that. I just think RS are f*cking with us. I put the hypothesis forward that GTA V will possibly be released around late 2012; with it being pushed back further to a spring 2013 release. According to Jack Thompson, GTA is the devil's incarnate. 2. December 21, 2012 = last day on earth, which I assume is related to the devil in some way. 3. The release of GTA V on December 21st is all part of the devil's master plan to destroy the earth. 4. The letter v is the 22nd letter in the alphabet. 22 = closely related to 21. Also without the letter v, you can't spell deVil. See where I'm going with this? 5. And lastly, v stands for vendetta, which R* probably has against Jack Thompson. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! And in this trailer we all saw the "2405" reference once again. There are many things pointing out to 24th May. - In the trailer we see 2405 at the sidewalk = 24th May - The song in the trailer came 24th May 1968 = 24th May - "8 par 3" sing in the trailer: 8*3 - 24, 8-3 - 5 = 24th May - At the end of TBOGT it said "24051972 LJK" = 24th May - In a gtaforum topic (where is the blue?) someone made a "clue" thread about V, he wrote "1102" and "204". 1102 the trailer was shown, and 204 days after November 2nd = 24th May - LJK might in fact mean this = L is the 12th letter, J is the 10th letter and K is the 11th letter = 10/12/11 = the date of VGA. (Any 2405 related stuff I missed?) Now Sam Houser's birthday is apparently on 24th May, but all of this just for a little Easter egg for Sam? Bullsh*t. I have no idea, maybe to get an more precise look of what those places have & look and feel to example, get some inspiration for a GTA game. Even tho they have said it will take place in "Los Santos and it's surrounding areas" they might just play a trick on us to make us get more excited when/if we see SV & LV as well. But it does feel kind of fishy of Rockstar to visit SV, LV, LS, San Diego for just a good time. Why go to these places? While they can release it on a Thursday if they wanted to, it wouldn't make any sense from a marketing point of view. Major games are never released on a Thursday, with good reason as well. People are always a lot more likely to buy the game on a Friday, with the weekend upon them. It seems like the most logical day to release a game, for me. Despite that, this date may still mean something. Could it possibly be a day where more important information is released, or where we receive a final release date for the game? For instance, the decision to announce now could've come from Take-Two and not Rockstar (if Take-Two report terrible profits in the near future, that could be evidence) or V was actually meant to be announced earlier in the year, but Rockstar wasn't ready (the fact that the Agent CV claimed V was due to release this year might be evidence for this, but that was from 2009). Or it could've been planned this way all along (imagine if V is released a couple of months after MP3; won't some (a lot of?) people be crazy with expectation, maybe crazy enough to buy MP3 to pass those last weeks?
