Anyone else believes that its the whole of SA?

Think about it, we saw planes in the trailer. Heck, there was even a jet plane flying at an insanely high speed. If we fly planes, then, think about it, we would, like cross the map in about 10 seconds at most. Those Jet planes already signal a huge map. Unless they plan on making the countryside and the surrounding hills and mountains bigger than Los Santos itself(which, I doubt), then there would be no point in having Jet Planes now, would it?

The main game we see in the trailer is Los Santos, but it's believed, using their RAGE engine with Natural Motion, they'll recreate all the main previous maps because of time, money and staff concerns, when new consoles come out, they won't use an older engine to build the game, so at this point I think they gave up on a new map until that happens, at least something of a hybrid of old and new for this gen's games

If there's planes that we can actually use there has to be more than one airport which means there has to be more than one major city. So yeah i believe there is more than one city.

I both agree and disagree. Regardless of the speed that the jets can potentially fly at (it did look quite fast, i must admit), there's no way you'll go end-to-end in 10 seconds. Never been possible in a GTA map, never will.

 

But, I do agree that the jets must have been included in the game for a reason OTHER than the fans constantly squawking at R*. They took out planes from IV because it was one city, and now they put them back in, but it's one city....

 

I get that the surrounding coutryside will be big (VERY BIG), but we don't know how much they've redesigned the map or how much of it they've included compared to SA. It can't be bigger than Santos itself, because people are gonna consider it dead space (no pun) and complain why it wasn't used for more cities.

The only other use I can see of having Jet Planes is that you fly to another city(maybe Vice?) for a mission like in San Andreas.

The only other use I can see of having Jet Planes is that you fly to another city(maybe Vice?) for a mission like in San Andreas.

Which would be split by a cut-scene anyways, so even that's sorta null.

I'm actually more excited now. I expect a game with absolutely no compromises at all. Big detailed and diverse city surrounded by interesting countryside and maybe the odd farm or two. I think it'll be epic.

Nah, think that's not an option. Rockstar want's to make money out of Los Santos. No point in adding DLC not if San Fierro and Las Venturas are as big as Los Santos. They might do in all in one game.

I'm pretty sure they've said that it will take place in and "around" Los Santos. So I expect Los Santos as the main city with countryside around. Tbh I actually prefer just focusing on Los Santos, of course it will be much bigger than the Los Santos in San Andreas. Think size of LC in GTA IV (Possibly bigger), but Los Santos, beaches to the south, countryside (and wind farms) to the north and west, and possibly some slight desert to the north east? One problem which I don't know how they will get around is how they will prevent the player from trying to cross the San Fierro and Las Venturas, I mean they could block it off like they always do initially, but will that hold for the entire game though? They couldnt possibly ignore the others, they have to at least acknowledge them! Also, VC and LC had a large amount of coastal area given it was either 2 islands or 3 islands connected with bridges. Los Santos would just be one island, which is kind of sad... unless they have rivers and stuff. It's very likely that they'll release SF and LV as dlc packs, probably just as long as GTA V though, in other words, full fledged games, and maybe, you'll be able to play in all of SA once you have all 3 packs ....

 

tl;dr IMHO just Los Santos. They will probs release SF and LV as dlc packs.

x2. I believe that R* will be concentrating on LS only.

 

DLC is probably very unlikely. It'd be bloody expensive too. My bet is SF and LV getting their own games. Maybe we might not see them ever again. Either way I'm not too fussed. I did want to see LV again on this gen, but didn't care much for SF.

 

Not a great loss IMHO. The game will still be incredible as far as I'm concerned.

I think that there might be a small city that isn't on the map until you beat the game and I think that it will be over that mountain range which has to be flown over because if it's just one city then that means that at the start you can go everywhere so an extra place that motivates you to finish the game is a good idea IMO

I believe its the whole San Andreas, because if its Los Santos, they should name it: ''GTA Los Santos'' and not GTA V.

However, i wouldn't expect them to completely rule out San Fierro or Las Venturas because it could return in a DLC, who knows?

 

I mean i doubt we would get a whole knew map as DLC, but i dont work for Rockstar so i couldn't tell you there plans.
