Leve-O
Pursuit of the almighty dollar! "Whilst that for which all virtue now is sold, And almost every vice, almightie gold" -Ben Johnson 1616 "Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures, the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind and greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the U.S.A" -Gordon Gecko Ahhh, the almighty dollar. The answer to material wealth, and the product of the American dream. It seems that Grand Theft Auto V is going to focus more on money than it ever has before. How will it revolve around the story you think? It seems like the protagonist wants to live a normal life. Get away from crime. Just kick back, and make an honest living. But what do you think makes him go back to the life of crime? Easy money? I think so. In today's economy, it's hard to get by. While some people have it lucky, others do not. And that's what I think the story will be about. Beating the system, and becoming insanely rich from it. So what do you guys think about this? Could this be interesting in your opinion? Please discuss. Edited November 4, 2011 by Leve-O
Mati
Interesting. I can't really say why money will be an important story element yet, but I believe the story will focus on hardcore criminals teaming up together to make some serious money. If you take a look at the jewelry heist scene on the trailer, one of those guys looks like Jerry Kapowitz. Maybe he wants his diamonds back? Maybe there are multiple protagonists? If so, then I believe that each of them is going to follow their personal goals.
427
It'd be good have the money mean something. You were so well rewarded in IV that you really didn't need to work hard to get cash to move forward.

I think Rockstar caught on to that. V will be all about the benjamins, and the way we spend it. Does crime pay? Yes, very well. It just depends on what you pay for. JOSEPH X
I was thinking about that statement and I thought that maybe the robbery we see in the trailer is just a small job, and the story follows the protagonist as he goes for "The Big One" The most popular mission in IV was "Three Leaf Clover", so it wouldn't surprise me if they expanded upon this, and there were lots of these types of missions in V. They could even be the equivalent of gang hideouts in RDR and you could do them multiple times.
RedDragonsBOOM
Well my theory is that the main protagonist really moved to socal to be a porn star, so in order to get his ugly ass on camera he has to do a buncha crazy sh*t.
AnthMUFC-Champs
Tbh i think this is how the game will go, i think you will start off living a normal life with your family or trying to anyway. Then the recession hits and you and your family are struggling so you decide to go back to your life of crime possibly behind your families back. What you guys think ?
