TruXter
wait... now you guys are confirming to yourselves that there will be border access because you read something from kitaku or some other spammy website that starts fake rumors with "implications", to get more readers? you people... lol

Southern California is bordered to the south by Mexico, specifically, Tijuana. We're just conjecturing at this point based on the STATED location: Southern California. Again: "Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California."--R* Press Release
The Made Man
Why are people saying R is not going to add San Diego, Because SD and LA are so similar... Remember GTA IV with Alderney(NY) and Liberty City(NY). I've visited NY and many times and both look similar. Heck Alderney looked like it was apart of Liberty City in GTA IV... If this gen can handle games like RDR, LA Noire, Skyrim, Rage, etc. Then they can sure as hell handle GTA V... I bet SD will be scaled down just like Alderney.... 427
We could see the border with Mexico as an impassable place. All you need to do it set something up at the start of the game say terrorists etc and station the arm along it. Try and fly a plane over it, drive over you get shot dead. dolphyfan
GTA V will be comprised of multiple cities. Just not the ones that we were all expecting. Also, there is a strong possibility that we get involved in some sort of cross border U.S./Mexican drug war. We don't know this. Anyway, the reason we need San Francisco and Las Vegas is there aren't really any cities in SoCal other than Los Angeles and San Diego (which itself is more or less a smaller, blander version of LA) the rest of the "cities" in Southern California are just sprawling planned suburbs (Orange County etc) that are pretty much identical to the suburbs of L.A. anyway. They'd be no replacement for San Fierro and Venturas, but I guess it'd be better than nothing if we do get San Diego and Orange County ... but I'm not sure Rockstar will bother with San Diego since it's so similar to Los Angeles anyway. Have you ever been to Chino? It's nothing like LA....
bobbybrand
Believe it or not Los Angeles is actually a little more than two times the size of NYC in land Size (not including water). And if they are including beaches it means that Santa Monica is also being thrown in there, probably how Newark was a supporting city for New York. I think they'll stick strictly to Los Angeles, and possibly Burbank, Pasadena, Long Beach, Compton, and Santa Monica.
bobbybrand
I still think Los Puerta is San Diego as well. We'll see.
The Rocker
I bet San Diego is going to be in there... I hated Las Venturas and San Fierro, but loved Los Santos.
abottig
I still think Los Puerta is San Diego as well. We'll see. Yes. I feel the same way. There's obviously no way they call it San Diego. Also, I'm told the I-5 goes from LA to San Diego in real life.
CubA_iLL_BrothA
I think we are taking "Southern California" out of context. Rockstar confirmed Los Santos and the surrounding beaches and countryside. I'm pretty sure they meant to say that Los Santos is a good representation of "South California." "Meant to say"? There is no "meant to say" in a press release. This is what they said(what they did mean to say): "Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California."--R* Press Release Loving the common sense you have bro. We need more members like you. It's obviously written right there and he go say "Oh they meant to say..." Don't tell us what R* meant to say.
