haiderr510
Ive posted this because some people on the forums are really irking me. Why are people complaining that the map is going to be small or its only going to be Los Santos. This is what R* said "We are very proud to officially announce that Grand Theft Auto V is in full development. Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created. A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California." Keywords: Largest , Re-imagined , Sourounding , Southern California So its going to be the Largest gta i don't know why some idiots say its going to be small. Re-imagined THIS IS NOT A REMAKE OF SA. Notice where does it say los santos only? there could be another city in the country side or somewhere else? This game is not about recreating SA its ovbiously about the economy getting bad "Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar" I want a new story and a new setting and I would like to hear a modern story and by the trailer its most likely going to be about the economy ( for sale sign , poster that says going out of buisness, him saying he wanted to be a family man, but then he starts to be violent like robbing a bank) And think about this how long did it take to make SA, VC, IV ? about two years they have been making this one for 4 years! if it takes that long don't you think it would be bigger, more detailed, and a longer story then the past gta's Some people in this forum (not saying everyone) need to use there brain and learn how to read please. And the people who think there is still going to be SF and LV they clearly say southern California! Even though i would love to see SF, but its in NORTH California and LV is barely even in California it self so unless there lying to us stop the theory. Why would any of you doubt R* they have never let us down yeah gta iv wasn't the best, but i still play that game to this date even though its 4 years old. R* knows what they're doing don't doubt them! 4 years of listening to whats good and not im pretty sure they have game that wont dissapoint
FelipeVinhao
You know what? The people complaining were probably upset by the fact that Rockstar didn't "follow the logic" and make Vice City. The same that didn't believe it would take place in San Andreas (or just Los Santos for that matter) even after all evidences leaded to it (remember the list of requested voice actors some months ago). xUSMC SSGTx
LV is barely even in California Las Vegas isnt in California at ALL, actually. The problem is that everyone here has fond memories of playing San Andreas. Me personally, I loved Las Venturas. When R* showed that the new game was set in LS people automatically started thinking those old, happy thoughts. And then when R* told us they were abandoning the rest of the state to focus on thug-happy Los Crapos, quite a few people (myself included) were pissed. Will we still buy it? Hell yes! But were going to be wishing for a highway to heaven every second.

Ohh my bad lol and i think that the other city's are great, but IMO having a new setting would be better im positive that this los santos is going to be way way way wayyyyy diffrent then the old one L.A is an amazing city they just made it look crapy in San andreas Vice city is a joke is the mc going to be getting tan and having a circle jerk in hawaiian tshirts? Liberty city was pretty boring SF was cool Los santos was crud in SA but i think if they spent 4 years on it it would be amazing

I liked LV, but I liked a little of it not a lot I think a whole game based on a city were people go just to play poker is a terrible idea if it was a little portion of the map it would be cool though

They brought the first trailer, it's suppoused to be the very best they are able to. The Protagonist's speech makes it obvious - the story's going to be dull just like the past games. Don't take me wrong - right now that's the only thing I'm upset about.
TheIntellectualz
I'll tell you what I'm tired of seeing in a list. *People complaining that its only gonna be in Santos *The protagonist is Tommy, CJ Claude ETC *the statement made by R* *Claiming they're not going to buy the game simply because they weren't brown nosed by Rockstar to add LV & SF We are all excited about the game and the trailer being released only made the anticipation worst. But, don't you think we've been given a the greatest GTA many times over? It just gets nerve racking when we gotta read the same sh*t in every thread! Akavari
Be happy they're even making the f*cking game, for god's sake. We've been waiting for this for years, and now we have it, but because it doesn't have 3 cities, the world automatically owes you something? To hell with the traditional San Andreas, if they want to recreate California in a realistic way then it would be impossible for them to link all three of those cities together. It's not like the new Los Santos will be the same size as the one in GTA SA, the city itself will be miles larger than IV's Liberty City with even more countryside and land to encompass San Andreas' map twice over, albeit with incredulous detail. Actually only reading this sentence we can't come to any conclusion. The maps on Pokémon games could be described like that and they're not that big. It just make sense if you associate it with the video we have now. That means something.

najtrows
AND STILL, there hasnt been a confirmation of "just Los Santos" as far as i've seen.. to say that the game is returning doesnt mean "just Los Santos"... but if it would end up meaning that then i gues the new Los Santos is as big as realtime L.A If you think of L.A Noire and RDR.... why would they make any GTA smaller? its just not logic... CANT WAIT FOR ANOTHER TRAILER!??!!?

GTA_fear
I am one of the people who is complaining about the game being set in only Los Santos. But I'm not complaining because I think it'll be small - on the contrary, the map will probably be twice the size of LC. In terms of gameplay, GTA V will, in my opinion, be the best so far. But it just won't feel like a GTA universe anymore with only Los Santos. R* created this universe (Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas) and now it's like they're dumping half of it in the water!! And Rockstar is good at re-imagining cities. With a city and a countryside I'm pretty sure it's going to be huge. Possibly a desert, too? I don't know yet. Maybe that will be confirmed in the future if geography is any guide. Isn't there a desert between LA and Vegas in reality?

GTA (first) included LC, VC and SA and then they split them up in the GTA 3 era as seporate games. San Andreas featured three cities, if its time for Los Santos (only), perhaps time will come for San Fierro and Las Venturas to shine as individual games. i on the other hand still think and hope it'll be the entire SA and that take two confirming Los Santos and sorrounding areas doesnt necessairly mean that the list ends there. BlademanX
most people here have never been to Southern California so they think LA is small..........But its not.....I used to live an hour from downtown Los Angeles.......all those districts including Bel Air, Hollywood, Long Beach even santa monica are huge......it takes ages to drive from one district to another. southern california is the size of England and Wales together...........which is about 1000 plus squared miles of area..........Half these areas wont be recreated into Los Santos because not enough space and the map is not big enough...............plus it takes time to make a huge map..where half the gamers wont go
