kgrogfefji82
One thing that has me worried it's true is that the character didn't give us a definite answer of who the main character is, all the other trailers from GTA titles have done that, this is the first that didn't. Mafioso86
I want to say 4Chan or IGN had an "informant close to R*" that prior to the trailers release said that it would be set in modern Los Santos with multiple protagonists. The setting may have been a lucky guess as we had all already seen the Rush leak but the vagueness of the trailer regarding the main character and R*'s failure to address it in their release today are interesting. We see a darker complexioned (black or hispanic?) guy who has tattoos in one scene and not in another and then there is the older white guy. Some people are in fact even saying that the darker complexioned guy in in fact two different guys; though I personally think that the game will see the return of customization so that tattoos could be added or removed. Further more I wonder if we won't see a Saint's Row level of customization, perhaps with a few basic templates (sort of like the voices in SR) that can then be customized pretty radically... just a thought. Edit: My bad, Kotaku

I read it in Genesis, I started getting worked up about mid year for the game, as did a lot of other people, thinking the first week of the month we'd see something, then this trailer, came up when most were getting over the earlier NO SHOW! hahaha It just goes to show, you know?! Genesis topic had a lot of theory and speculation result, and some of it made little sense, but I think one might say you went with a hunch. Somehow the idea of multiple characters seems very plausible at this stage of the GTA game design, and having flirted with such things in the DLC and RDR

straxi1234
Could the DLC for GTA IV have been a trial run for R* in implementing multiple stories and character progression throughout the game???
Slamman
The DLC was at least attributed mainly to Sam Houser, he initially suggested random contacts in the game, then he suggested DLC unlike any previous DLC, we saw a mix of both, so he really did try and put those ideas forth. I will also add for the record, Sam Houser ALSO suggested the petrol filling of cars in GTA, but says, laughingly, he was shot down by the rest of staff. If they implement it now, it's a shift in that decision for sure!!
Halo_Override
If I was going to start a multiple character rumor... - the emphasis on V/Five is that you play as one of a five member crime gang in Los Santos - you get to choose which one you play as - the core story is basically the same for all five, but each has small differences, as well as personal storylines - side quests and activities are open to all - the balcony man is the leader; you can't unlock his character and story until you've completed it once as someone else - the other four are the alley runner (who is also the sweater guy), the red car guy, the handholder (who is also the narrator and the undercover FIB agent), and Packie (seen in the jewelry heist scene)

Of course, that's exactly what I would say if I was leaking real game information, wouldn't I? Since the people who want to pass off fake theories as fact always say they have some inside scoop? But then, knowing that, I could do a double-bluff and make a joke out of it all, like I did here... OR DID I JUST BLOW YOUR MIND?
