bobgtafan
What will it take for GTA V to sell more than any other game in history? Excluding Wii Play I'm pretty sure GTA 4 or SA was the best selling game of all time. It's kind of blurry to be honest but my question stands. What will it take for this to be the best selling game ever created?
Turin88
GTA V is already guaranteed to sell well simply because of it's brand. I don't think it's far-fetched at all to expect it to break a few sales records.
chokeslamcena
There'll always be the crowd of people who'll buy it just because it's GTA. Then you'll have those who will just buy it because other people are buying it. Truth be told though, between a mixture of people just not having the money any more, people not wanting to sit down and play a game which has a storyline that touches close to home (people play games to forget their worries, not to be reminded about their bills), the intense similarities to GTA IV (tightly packed city scene again) and Rockstar's strangely unique bad start to the promotion of the game, as much as I hate to say it, I don't think it'll be shattering any records this time around. It'll definitely be a great seller, but I don't see it matching (or nearing) GTA IV's sales (nor SA's for that matter).

I agree with some of what your saying but if R* knows a thing or two its how to sell a game. Regardless of uninformed speculation about the final product I'd say this teasing is part of their strategy. We'll see, with anticipation.
