MajorVienna Posted November 4, 2011 Share Posted November 4, 2011 Creating moving tank tracks in 3D isn't so easy and I think it's a bit intensive on RAM/graphics, and then to have them crush cars properly would be more work, I think this is why no Rhinos were in IV, but now they have some solid coding ground to stand on, it may be possible, but I think it will depend on the damage setup V has, it may be the same (outdated) crap damage system from IV or we may get something that a leading title should have in 2012. On a side note (and half irrelevant) GTA SA only recently-ish got a 3D tank tracks mod, and they had to use CLEO3 to do it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But that vehicle didnt seem too big. I actually thaught it was something like the racing 4x4 that was in VC and SA. I would like a tank, ONLY when i can really crush cars. Otherwise pointless. They are already pushing the boundaries of the game graphics wise. Why add more "stress" to the engine? Of course, I am talking out my @$$ due to lack of Xbox 360 capability knowledge. If GTA V is set in present day, I doubt we will see a tank. Maybe some other form of military vehicles. But it would be nice if there are side mission where you can go vigilante or rescue like fly a chopper and save people stranded out at sea. To be honest when I saw it, I wasn't really trying to identify the vehicle. Instead I was too busy being impressed at the particle effects of all the dust it was throwing up. The dynamic vehicle damage from GTA:IV was one of my favorite aspects of the game... If that system was outdated, then just about every other game made after 2007 that featured cars must have been years behind (considering the fact that most games have horrible vehicle damage and physics). Perhaps we'll see updated versions of the Flatbed and mabe the APC. Expect something along those lines but I don't see why the Hunter, Sea Sparrow, and the Buzzard won't be making another appearance.
