nkjellman
I know for a fact he is a new character. Why would they bring someone from a III era game to a IV/V era game?
cidamelo
h4mza I completely agree! He looks like Ray Boccino! Both are my favorite characters in III and IV Eras!! nkjellman Because a lot of people love the old characters!!
GR7
I'm actually starting to believe there will be 2 playable characters the old guy and the guy in the vest, what caught my eye is that they both seem to be driving similar cars except the old guy drives a blue car while the other guy drives a red maybe that is some sort of visual representation of their differences maybe rich and poor(fits with the money theme), good and bad, cold/chilled and firery it could also represent what type of missions each will partake in blue doing the more laid back methodial missions and red doing the more extreme explosive missions. Im probably reading too much into things but whatever.
cidamelo
Gregers08 I think the multiple characters idea is interesting! But it depends on how they'll put this in the game!
EvilEmperorZoRG
But the narrator stated he wanted something new? Claude was in SA in 1992. he was in san feirro... technically we never knew if he ever lived in Los Santos Hey, very good point. It may seems like a 5 minutes road or a plane cheat for us to go from SF to LS but in the games story universe Claude probably never went to LS. Good point man
iGrandTheftAuto
I don't know about anyone else, but I actually want a protagonist that talks.

cidamelo
Buffalo Soldier thankfully Rockstar doesn't think the same! CLAUDE was featured in almost ALL GTAs, except GTA 1 and his expansions.............Rockstar released a CLAUDE action figure! Coke ad has a character very similar to CLAUDE..... And he is in this forum logo!!

BigAsHell856
How I look at is.. having Claude as the protagonist for GTA 5, won't be bad at all and it can be BRAND NEW TO US!!!!! We don't know nothing about the man at all really, and there's 10 year's between 3 & 5 (unless the gta 5 is has a different time period) and Rockstar can do whatever they want to him, Claude could be a whole new character and a familiar face at the same time... They can play it out just like how they will do if the protagonist is a whole NEW CHARACTER TO THE SERIES... Rockstar has alot there for Claude to build on to a whole level of the series, if they really wanted too..
poiman
poiman he isn't mute! He just doesn't speak too much! Even if that's true, in the trailer he speaks way more than in all the other games in which he appears together. So it just doesn't match.
leopagoto
Victor - never forget you / always remember you bro", "RIP Claude", "RIP Toni", "remember Tommy - u r still my hero", "Carl I love you RIP everyone miss you", "RIP Vic". Did you remember that? Unfortunately, everybody from the III era are dead. No Tommy, no Claude, sorry.

PHARKIN CHERKOV
Okay, this is probably the most ridiculous topic I've seen and kind of sh*ts me. Why do people want recycled sh*t over and over? What sense does it make to have a III-era character not only NOT appear in IV but also mentioned as "R.I.P." but then appearing in V with a voice actor when the original Claude had none at all and a different look. Can't people just let go of this Vercetti, Claude, CJ nonsense? Why don't you want to play as an original character for once? It boggles my mind. BigAsHell856
If Tommy or Claude ain't the protagonist, I can learn to accept that fact, because I have no other choice.. but We do derseve to know what happen to them after their game events.. Sure you leave it for us to make own ending for them.. but come on it ain't the same at all.. I rather know what happen to those's characters that I fall in love with back in the day.... and with this whole thing about the old GTA 3 Era characters are dead... Rockstar even said themselves, that the GTA 3 era ain't truly done yet, and it's possible one day we go back to that... Why not put both Era's together with a whole new era as 1 GOOD-ASS GTA GAME! PHARKIN CHERKOV
Dude, let go of it. The III era is as dead as horse sh*t. What happened to Claude? Why don't you just fire up GTA III and find out, he kills Catalina and gets his revenge. My goodness, this is bordering on lunacy. It's like a cult with people who want to bring back the III era. As of IV, all III characters are presumed to be dead. They're dead because starting from IV, GTA is set in a new universe. We don't deserve to know anything about what "happened" to Tommy, Claude, CJ, Toni, or whoever else. BigAsHell856
i'm not letting it go, 'til Rockstar comes out and say we will never go back to the GTA 3 Era.... if anything they could at least release a Documentary of the history of the GTA and it's character's... Learning their history and their later fates... now that's not hard to ask for right... but at the end of day liking it or not or even believe it or not Rockstar Games calls the shots, they can do whatever the hell they want! PHARKIN CHERKOV
Well, you're going to be waiting forever for nothing essentially wasting your time. You need some post-III counseling, let it go.

kb8618
That guy cannot be Claude because GTA III was set around 2001 and GTA V is set around 2010-2011 (plus minus a few years). And he cannot age that much so fast. while i originally thought it was Claude, i'm not sure anymore as his nose profile doesn't match (even if noses get bigger over our lives), we never heard him talk so we don't have a voice to match, but one thing that fits is age. think about it, he was in SA in 92 and he had to of been at least 20 at that time, in GTA III he would be in his 30s, so in V he would be in his 40's, while the guy in the trailer looks closer to 50 it could still be him as GTA III graphics weren't as detailed as SA or IV, and stress ages people faster To some of the other posters, i never heard the guy actually say he wanted something new, just different. We don't actually know if Claude lived in SA in 92, and it seems like he knew at least a little bit about life in the SA area when he said "i guess it was the weather" and "that thing. that magic" off topic, if anyone shown in Trailer 1 is actually CJ its the guy at 0:36, while the lighting sucks, he does look older and is wearing Groove st. colors (including green shoes)
