Rechain
Yes, GTA3 has 10years anniversary. Maybe it is Claude? Found a HINT in the trailer of GTAV (time 01:08) you can see an ambulance and a burning car on a bridge ;D like in the first mission in GTA3, check this video (time 02:34) where you can see the ambulance and the burning car on the bridge! Is this a hint or what? > < Info about Claude > http://gta.wikia.com/Claude < /Rechain That was an excellent find... Forgot about the opening of GTA III being a burning car Yeah long time since I played GTA3, but I did remember that, when I saw that scene in the GTA V trailer. Maybe its just me, but it could have a connection? /Rechain

AncientRo
That guy cannot be Claude because GTA III was set around 2001 and GTA V is set around 2010-2011 (plus minus a few years). And he cannot age that much so fast.

And he cannot age that much so fast. I think it is right. In 1992 at SA, I guess Claude will be in his early 20s, I use 22 as an example. In 2001 when we see him in GTA III, he will be in his early thirties (31). If GTA V will be released in 2012, he will be in his early forties (42). That man looked to be in the forties so it fit Claude just right!

CubA_iLL_BrothA
My statement is like, I doesn't matter, but they did just celebrated the GTAIII 10 Year Anniversary with a Action Figure, then announce GTA V in the same month with a Trailer the following week. Then all of a sudden the guy they is showing multiple times have the same appeal as the Action Figure, not the young GTAIII Protagonist. I'm just saying this is all crazy right? But I'm not gonna just sugar coat and say this because Claude is still my favorite criminal, but they also showed a Latino/Black guy multiple times also. It doesn't matter to me that much because I appreciate R* and there staff. Got some of you members feelings hurt and uptight

rmisdice
Claude, didn't talk, he was a mute, the guy in the GTA V trailer talked, had a Thicker head/face(Claude was slim ) and just looked different. he isn't Claude and he isn't Tommy Vercetti. Slayer353
I thought Claude didn't talk because he wouldn't talk to anyone he didn't trust... But, Playboy X did talk about killing someone very similar to him and he had his clothes in his apartment. Plus the graffiti in IV had remembrances of Claude and the past III era characters besides Tommy.... Or did I miss his?

AkulDureja
Firstly, the place they're going to rob in the trailer looks more like a jewellery store than a bank. Also, rockstar has stated time and again that III era is over. It'll be a new character without any doubts and IMO, there will only be one protagonist. Everyone else shown in the trailer just have been used to show certain features. For example, the black dude (no racism, I'm black myself) in the red convertible shows the ability to close/open convertibles' top.
BlademanX
Claude is prolly dead so is Tommy Vercetti if its set in 2012....Claude because Playboy X prolly took him out..Tommy because hes in the past and was prolly killed off in revenge...lol.....hope its someone new, young he can be any race...I know people dont want a black guy because they think hip hop culture...but who cares....i just dont want an old guy or middle aged guy........I prefer an hispanic guy but not a prick like Luis from TBOGT ..... Someone with some humour like Niko
Maxvayne
Remember the GTA IV graffiti? The III era protags are GONE. Yes. For that game.
najtrows
I Saw the pic of the same guy getting out the van, and the Hispanic man that was in the covertible was Also driving that van. I hope the Hispanic young man is the protagonist i don't want no "gang culture/ hip hop" BS for GTA.. not like San andreas... it does not work well in a GTA game no, the best thing is when the protag have to encounter things he's not used to. but they always do that so maybe he'll have to work FOR the police or something.. not in the way CJ did but "undercover" and then just become a criminal maybe but i had the same thought about claude, but it would be weird (and kind of boring) if they rehash the old guys as playable. I'm thinking that maybe we can choose from different protags at the start and then play through the game as them and then play through it as someone different that you maybe meet in the story. They wanted those small decisions in IV that would have made the story different, maybe its a bigger part now.. WHOOP!
JoshGTAfreak
I don't know man, I think it would just get confusing having a III era character return. For example, why does Liberty City look so different in IV? I kinda assumed the games would be in a different universe type thing.
Shifty07
Lol R* wouldn't bring Claude back then turn him into a confident speaker. They stick to their sh*t, that ain't Claude. Nor is it Tommy or any other III character. Why is everyone so sure the protag is the suited guy? Or even IN the trailer?!
RedDragonsBOOM
I could actually agree with this theory. Everybody think that this one old interview says "all the characters from the 3 era are dead" when in actuality it said "MOST of the 3 era characters would have died" leading speculation to say that some characters from that era lived and they did! Did everybody forget about Lazlow? He is in every game since three and even makes references to events prior to IV that where from the three era. Basically you need to remember at the core, GTA is a video game and they have created an entire fictional country for that game but it does have a linear timeline with its own lore with a sense of continuity to back it up. In a sense what I'm trying to say is III era, IV era, V era are all the same time frame with minor changes here and there not unlike what you would see in comic books but they all coexist in the same universe. As time progresses of course the cities will look different due to updated technology and Just to keep up general interest. But that still doesn't mean the history of the universe is erased. And more reasons I could see this theory being true is Claude has been the protagonist multiple times, hes the one we know for sure was able to survive the longest at least 10 years between SA and III. "why did I move here? Maybe it was the weather". The weather in LC sucks! "i wanted to retire....from that you know" Older male looks about early to mid 40's Claude must have been late 20's to early 30's in III if he made an appearance in SA, in that he must have been early twenties. "retire from...that, you know." Obviously that was some dirty work he must have been in because he seems to not like TALKING about lol. Makes me think, maybe thats why Claude never spoke. He wanted to make money, not get involved. Maybe inside he didn't really want that as his line of work. but being around a crazy bitch like Catalina shes bound to drag you into some trouble. So has Claude finally talked? IDK but honestly this should be one of the top protagonist theories.
ricky18
Claude, didn't talk, he was a mute, the guy in the GTA V trailer talked, had a Thicker head/face(Claude was a slim pretty guy) and just looked different. he isn't Claude and he isn't Tommy Vercetti. lol i was slim and pretty 10 years ago, im a older chubby git now lol time does change u dude, especailly the space of like 10 years, it changes some people alot, and considering claude would of had alot of stress, he would naturally age quicker than people who live stress free lives, it COULD be claude, im not writing it off yet, but i doubt it and yes stress does make u age quicker, thats FACT, and claude has done some sh*t in his time lol
