Will GTA V include a theme park?

Now that Los Santos has all of the center of attention in the new GTA V and will now be many many times larger than its previous appearance in GTA: SA, will we see some Disney Land/Universal Studios type areas remade in GTA style?

 

Personally, i loved visiting Universal Studios Hollywood in real world Los Angelas

 

What do you think?

I'd say we'll see a theme park of some description, where we'll have a shoot out (think Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop 3), but I don't think you'll be able to interact with anything in the park (won't be able to go on rollercoasters, etc.) though I'd say they may be a bit adventurous in DLC and give us bumper cars to fly around the city in, and i'd say there'll be a tall tower somewhere, perhaps in the Disnay Land knock off, to admire the view of the city/mountains from.

Yes it will include the Glory Hole themepark as referenced in San Andreas.

Go to 0:33. Look at the right corner of the screen, and it looks like a huge rollercoaster behind the trees. So I'd say there will be some form of a theme park.

If it's just SoCal, and they include Anaheim, then Yes. Definitely.

 

BTW, Cali has Disneyland not Disney World.

Heh. When I saw the title, I was sure the topic was started by Racetrack. But, hey, what do you know. I'm sure he'll chime in before long, though.

 

I'm not really sure if R* will spend their time on something like this. Just having a dead theme park area is a waste of space. There is nothing useful about it. Functioning theme park would be a lot of work, on the other hand. Also, some very interesting challenges. How do you build a believable theme park in a game where you don't have children?

 

All I can say is that if R* decide to do this, I hope they do it right. They really shouldn't just throw a token theme park area for the sake of having it.

i hope all that sort of stuff in IV that you couldn't interact with (video games, carnival rides etc) will be available in V. the carnival in bully was good

There is a ferris wheel and resturants with food stands at the pier on original SA and is also shown in 0:33 of the trailer behind the trees at the right like titans said.

The ferris wheel/roller coaster in the trailer would be remake of Santa Monica Pier.

 

 

I think in the beginning of the trailer in the scene with the people running is also Santa Monica Pier (but it is called Pleasure Pier)

Hey, Bully had a small amusement park and it worked very well.

The farthest Rockstar will go, is Santa Monica Pier, which they already seem to have hinted at in the teaser trailer. I doubt there will be any Disneyland or Universal, and frankly I don't want either.

It is possible a theme park will be include because in the original san andreas a theme park was metioned named the "Glory Hole Theme Park" although it never appeared in game and was only mentioned on radio. In the trailer, there's an image that suggests a theme park could be included here:

Anyways, I don't really see the obsession of a working amusement park (other than adding some atmosphere). All I liked amusement parks for in the GTA series is to snipe people from either the top of a ferris wheel (GTA VCS) or a rollercoaster track (GTA IV). Hell, I remember how damn laggy that working ferris wheel made GTA VCS.

Now that I look closely, It looks like it says "Glory Holes" so it possibly is a bakery/donut store. Still hope an amusement park would be in it to create an atmosphere

GTA:SA wasn't technically up to having the ferris wheel on Santa Maria pier working.

 

GTA:IV's Firefly island was shut down because it was parodying the real life Coney Island which was also shut down.

 

GTA:V will have to be different, because what ever theme parks they put in will have to be bustling and full of life and operational, and are a significant part of real life L.A.

 

We've already seen Santa Maria pier in the trailer which will be a representation of Pacific Park. So the question is which, if any, of the others they will parody? Because they can't do them all.
