Well, they only wrote what the speaker said in the trailer. In my opinion the speaker talked about his future plan he had when he moved there, getting a wife, becoming a normal dad that plays with his kids, like every other normal dad would do, but then things changed and he had to do what he had to do. So at this point in time, he had no wife and children, it just was his plan, when he moved there. Also the wikia article needs to be updated about the robbery thing. They still have listed it as bank robbery. But the jewelry store they are robbing in that scene has a real life counterpart -> the "David Orgell" store (http://www.davidorgell.com/aboutus.aspx) in Two Rodeo Drive, right next to the "Breguet" store (http://www.breguet.com/de/Los-Angeles), that you also can see in that scene. The "In-Game" logo of that store is different (it can be seen on the windows of the store). It is gold colored and outlined in shape of a ring with a big diamond on it. Below the logo there is a text that says something like "Fine Jewelry". It could be some other Text though, because i canceled the analysis of this text last night. Maybe its time to let us create our own character. It worked for saints row so it should work for gta. MULTIPLE PROTAGONISTS? Yea, MULTIPLE because MULTIPLE people made one. Ooh, good idea! I'd really love it if they allowed us to do that. However, it doesn't seem to be their style. They seem to be scaling back on customization instead of expanding it. Hijamo Posted November 5, 2011 Share Posted November 5, 2011 Truthfully, I think there will be multiple protagonists in this game, but five is a little far-fetched...maybe three (though the Kapowitz angle is interesting). If that IS the case, maybe things will be handled like the Complete Edition of IV, where you probably choose a character, and follow that character's storyline until those intersecting points occur. Once again, go to Grand theft wiki instead. Not trying to advertise, but GTAWikia, their information isn't as legit as you think. Or near the end. This would give the game a massive replay value, and maybe even some more twists that we're not clearly thinking of yet. So to summarise.. 2 main characters, the black guy and the white guy, who you can choose to play through the story mode independantly, but who come together at the end (given that they look together in that van scene). Sounds like a pretty good idea yeah? Maybe not as good as some other ideas, but I think it seems "likely" and not too over the top. We need to think realistic. RED_ Posted November 5, 2011 Share Posted November 5, 2011 Yeah Rockstar Leeds handle porting the game to the PC but not making it. Anyway just read the OPs post. Only realised then that the homeless guy was actually in the van with the other too doing a robbery. Could be an interesting turn of events to see how he got from being on the road asking for money to being used in a robbery. I'm 100% sure that whoever we play is in that van then. They showed all of them more then once so they are all one crew but all from different neck of the woods. I don't think there will be 5 protaginists, that would be way too much, i don't even think there will be three, i think there will only be one and he is one of the three in the van. The narrator is talking about buying a big home, being rich already, wanting to retire etc. This makes me think that the only logical protagonist then is the old guy. The old guy may not me the protag, but he for sure is one of the central characters, like a Roman for example. I was watching their live stream of the GTA V trailer, and they had some pretty good points. I guess that's where you heard a few of these things from? By the way, Protagonist 3, is Tommy Vercetti, from Vice City (the Vice City protagonist). If you study pictures of Tommy from Vice City and then study the face we saw over-looking the city, they look a-like. He's the main character, main protagonist and we'll see him in the next trailer. The 4 others (I don't count protagonist number 2 since he's probably just a pedestrian) are surely important characters of the game and I wouldn't be surprised if they will be playable. OR Maybe protagonist number 3 is the main character but the 5th character is very special so they decided to not show him in the first trailer. You know, he's "That Special Someone" kind of guy . They're FAR more likely protagonists than Jerry Kapowitz, the dude in the sweater, or the exterminator folks (except Ned Luke and the driver). The rumor sounds unbelievably and strange, doesn't it? I think so too.But the rumor with the location unexpectedly came out to be a true fact. Indeed it's a remake of Los Santos (and I'm happy). SARDYNA108 Posted February 1, 2012 Share Posted February 1, 2012 PROTAGONIST NUMBER 5 (JERRY KAPOWITZ) It was found by a user on this forum that the homeless guy in 0:57 is a GTA IV's character, Jerry Kapowitz (there's no doubt if you ask me). I've found out him so interesting, that I think the guy in 0:46 is Jerry too but in the van scene he's shaved, has a new hair-cut and he seems to be cleaner that in the "need money for beer, porno and hookers. At least I'm not bullsh*tting u!" scene. The thing that makes me think both these guys are the one guy is that their eyes, ears, hair and forehead are very similar. Also, the thing that he's robbing a bank with bunch of other protagonists is an obviousness. He's desperately looking the way to get to the money. Also, from an official Rockstar Games statement: "Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California". Jerry is a typical case of guy that is looking for the fortune. He moved to Los Santos. To get more money. To find opportunites he haven't found in Liberty City. That's logical.
