fireguy109
I'd kill the dogs if I had to. I wouldn't run around with a sniper rifle shooting off a little puppy's legs one by one. You guys are worse than the fricking terrorists-in-training who wanted to blow up a maternity ward in 3D. Get outta here. I remember in GTA III I would use the sniper to blow people's legs off just to watch them hobble, fall to the ground and only to be outlined chalk. That is hilarious, Jack Thompson. I could care less about the people. I did that (and still do that) too, although I would sometimes flinch because I can't stand blood, even in video games. I'd prefer not to kill little puppies or kids. Thank you for your time, Charles Manson. @ the guy above - what do you mean, I don't? There's a certain line that you cross when you pull sh*t like that. I could care less about whether its a video game for not, it's against my moral principles. I'm not assuming you're psychos here, I'm stating my opinion and you're twisting it. Do you get a rush of power from taking the lives of innocents? If you were standing over a little kid or dog in GTA, with a gun to its head, and it looked at your with those puppy-dog eyes, would you pull the trigger? I wouldn't. I had no problem killing people in GTA because most of them were assholes. But I'd prefer to let innocents like that live. There's a line, a line that someone who has morals and lives by them shouldn't cross. If I had to kill the entire K9 unit with my bare hands, I would. But I wouldn't buy it to run animals down just to feel better about myself. Edited November 4, 2011 by fireguy109

Turin88
Is hunting a prominent part of LA culture? I guess if the rural communities of SA are making a return, then hunting makes sense.

I'm using it as an example. I can dig up numerous posts for you where people wrote in graphic detail how they would enjoy slaughtering busloads of children, newborn babies, and animals, the more violent the cutscenes the better. Gaming used to be about finesse, precision. It was refined, professional. Rockstar destroyed most of this, but left one big thing - they didn't go too far. They didn't include kids. They didn't include animals (until Red Dead). They are adapting, changing with the times. And quite frankly, I think that's alright, as long as they don't go too far. @goin-god: That's true. But I'd still rather stick to my principles. It helps me feel good about myself.
SonofUgly
I find it kinda funny that fireguy is talking about not wanting people shooting off a puppy's leg while his avatar depicts a coyote getting hit in the head with a cannon ball
Versous
You probably won't be able to "Hunt" Animals but I really hope they don't give you the ability to kill dogs or anything This is GTA dude. You can sure as hell bet that I, along with thousands of others, will run those dogs over while hauling ass in an 18 wheeler. I mean seriously. It's a game. Have fun with it. Even if I got a dog myself and against the ability to kill animals, you made me laugh Edited November 4, 2011 by Versous

I could too, but no one in this topic has even mentioned that. It's about 'Hunting Animals', not 'Hunting, and ruthlessly killing newborn babies, children and puppies'. I'm sure if they do add animals I'm sure little puppy poodles won't be pouncing around, tempting you to slaughter the 'poor' thing. Jeez. It'll be ok. RARusk
I want to snipe squirrels eating out of residential trash cans. Who knows, sniping squirrels might be the replacement for the Flying Rats and a 100% Requirement for GTA V. "One day I will think of this as just another job. After all, this is what I do." I'm making a general statement on animals in GTA V, although in retrospect I am off topic. What I'm trying to express is that there's a certain moral aspect to the killing everyone does in video games. The way I see it, running down dogs with an 18 wheeler says that you don't really value animals' lives that much. Then there is a split. It's one thing to kill dozens of K9 units to save your own life, but it's another thing to kill animals just minding their own business. One could argue that this should therefore apply to not being able to kill pedestrians. But personally, I'd rather kill a bunch of grubby gutter-dwellers or the fat cat in his Lambo clone than the dogs I see in alleyways. Except deer. As I said, go ahead and kill deer. Cool at times, but annoying as hell when they're running through the middle of town and standing in the middle of the highway. If a dog attacks me or runs out in front of me even, all I'll feel is recoil or a bump. But I would rather not go out of my way to kill animals. I suppose I could always just not do so if they implemented it, though.
Jonesizzle
Gotcha. I never could understand someone having a certain boundary they won't cross in a Mature rated game (borderline AO rating), but I'll respect your values.
MajorVienna
Wolves in that mountain, and I think they could make them rare so you never know when they will appear and try to maul you. (Wolves in Southern Calif in real life?) I reckon it'll be real creepy at night, I'm sure it will get a ton of it's own ambient sounds. What about that chewbacachupachup dog thing that has been found, that would be lol. On yahoo news some people in calif apparently almost got swallowed by a whale, lol. but I don't watch vid news on yahoo though as this isn't 2020. Threepwood
I'm begining to think that dog is just part of a cutscene... [...] But if there's one in a cutscene, that should obviously mean they're in the game too being walked by peds in residential areas etc. [...] It would be silly, indeed, but I think goin s right. Plus, R* has done exactly such silly things: IV has wheel modding in cutscenes (Brucie cutscenes), but not ingame. How silly was that?
zeppelincheetah
i doubt you can get pelts but you can probably go around in the wilderness with an ak hunting for bears lol. what i've really really really wanted to do in a gta since san andreas is to be driving full speed down a country road and hit a deer, f*cking up my car and instantly killing the deer. AceRay
If they didn't add dogs after showing that dog in the trailer, it would be a massive punch in the face for everyone. gta_aus88
I dunno about hunting, seems like RDR's feature that he should have for himself. Now police dogs, deer on sides of road/on road (I've heard they are the kangaroo's of USA, always jumping in front of cars, getting themselves killed; "deer in the headlights"), birds and possibly some dolphin/fish in the water. A shark could be really funny if they wanted to go that way. I believe that's where the fun lies for animals in GTA. Only very few fauna will be hostile to you, namely police dogs...the rest for scenery and immersion. Lol like in the scarface game, if you stay in the water for too long a shark will eat you

GuantanamoObama
You probably won't be able to "Hunt" Animals but I really hope they don't give you the ability to kill dogs or anything You could kill dogs in RDR, so I don't see why if they had dogs in V you wouldn't be able to. Keep in mind, you don't 'have' to 'kill' the pixels formed to an image of a dog.

I f*cking love every damn animal. I prefer to kill a human than a mouse. And that's true. I have 3 dogs and a cat in my house. But I'd love to kill cats {not dogs } along with humams ! LOL It's a game anyway. Nothing is real.
