JoshGTAfreak
Rockstar aren't robots. They aren't going to do things exactly the same. The will do things differently each time. You guys seem to forget that they are humans, they reflect on their past actions and react to them. I don't think there's any way to tell how they are going to release information. tmac9wr
Well, looks like tmac9wr and sabbathfan represent the best points on both ends of the argument here. And I like how you already predict a 20+ million sales, tmac. Haha not me...if you look at the link from my previous post it's the Wall St analysts who are predicting this. In the aforementioned article they're saying they expect 20-24 million units to move in the first year, which is ridiculous if true. Time to buy some TTWO stock. tmac9wr
if they say it's los santos and surrounding countryside, it will be just los santos and the surrounding countryside. it will be huge, the biggest rockstar map yet but it won't have las venturras or san fierro. this will have a much more realistic in scale. GTA: San Andreas was unrealistic, and much smaller scale than real life. As far as I know, they haven't said it's "just" or "only" Los Santos and surrounding areas. Nor have they said SF and LV will "not" feature in the game. Until I hear "just", "only", or "not", there's still a chance it'll be the whole of SA. And who cares about realism? If I wanted a realistic city or state, I'd just go visit LA myself. The GTA series is supposed to be about fun parodies. Again, you're only hearing what you want to hear. Try to look at it from R*'s point of view: why in the world would they ever use the words "just", "only" or "not" in the first advertising release of the newest entry to their benchmark franchise?! If at some point in the future they come out and say they're including LV and SF then fine! That's when you should be excited, not now. You're setting yourselves up for disappointment with what is going to be a very large and amazing game simply because you don't understand basic marketing. Pacal17
lol... back in early 2003 when San Andreas was first announced; everyone here didn't even fathom that San Andreas would include Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas. We all assumed it would only be based in San Francisco, because GTA1's rendition of San Andreas was heavily based on San Francisco. Anyone else remember this fake screenshot from back in the day? One of the best fake pictures ever.

Jacko427
Well, keep in mind this is not SA 2004. They maybe gave too much info but not anymore since the accouncement of GTA IV. So maybe they won't give much info about GTAV like they did with GTAIV.

ch3vychas3
in the news section of San Andreas website, is that a 2 month gap between official R* announcement of the game - and the actual game release? Man, I'd love GTAV for Christmas.
Knife
The game was initially announced in May 2004, the press release didn't mention ANY cities. Just a title and release date. The first details of the actual game then came in march, this is the first snippet of info about the game/it's setting released: "Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas... a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption. Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers. Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster. On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets." It was never hidden, they revealed it was across the whole state from the start. By the time trailer 1 came out, all the cities were revealed and detailed with screenshots and previews in magazines. No it wasn't. There are numerous articles on gaming websites dated March 1st 2004 which all talk about GTA San Andreas as having just been announced. I got the two months the wrong way around, it was announced in March, first actual details about the game in May.
