The Made Man
I like this thread. Will $$$$ actually be important to you? Unlike in GTA IV...
Kwandilibro
Well, seeing as the V in the logo is basically pulled directly from the five dollar bill (and seeing as R* said so), it's a fair assumption to say that R8 plans on increasing the importance of money in the game. Not just the importance of earning money, but spending it aswell.
mattymcs
Making money important is the natural progression of the franchise in my opinion. And I think this game is going to revolve around it going off the announcement today. It should be all about taking over. Theres a reason why a lot of people love the vice city storyline. I could talk forever about money in GTA. There can not be too much things to spend money on, or ways to make it.
Breaking Bohan
Totally agree. I was also upset in GTAIV when I had tons of money but nothing really exciting to buy .... We should be able to buy tons of clothes and weapons (like in SA but even more); safe-houses and apartments; furnishings; cars/jets/boats; call girls; caviar and fine wines; gold chains and rolex; plastic surgery; and even a trip to bath-house. For me, if there is nothing exciting to buy, then it doesn't really matter how much money I have, therefore it cuts down on my motivation to do side-mission and earn cash. gtafreak102
All I spent my money on in IV was hospital bills, weapons and hookers. I'd like to earn money by a robbing banks minigame. I'd like to spend money on safehouses, cars, arcade games, more clothes, haircuts, gambling, etc
StickyWickett
This is quite an important subject for me. For my dreams to come true, I'd like money to actually have value in this game, as in I have to really work for it, sort of like the credits system in Forza. I also want to be able to buy cars, but I don't want hundreds of them stored in a massive invisible carport I'm looking at you, Saints Row. If we start off with a single car garage, I only want to be able to store one car in it. If I buy a new house with a bigger garage using my hard-earned, I expect to store more. Maybe it could get to the point of buying a vacant lot with my money and being able to store a fairly wide variety of cars there. Or maybe I should just leave my house every so often ;_;
mattymcs
You should be able to buy mansions and upgrade them. Like put in pool tables, arcade games, weapon cabinets that restock, cars in your garage, bars to invite friends round to make it easier to keep up relationships. I could come up with loads of stuff. Ratone
I can see a large amount of things to do with money this time around, and hopefully we'll be seeing some assets missions making a come back. I miss the idea of investing on my OWN business. I think a lot of this game will be about money, power, respect, buying things, clothings and maybe even car modifications. Tsuroki
Red Dead Redemption had a very sophisticated commerce system built in, and I'd like to see something similar with Grand Theft Auto V.
