GTA4 also had a pretty active mapping attempts, were you involved with it too? It's kind of a shame all the image links are dead, I love to reminince.

Nope, I wasn't active at the time but I looked back and they did do a great job back then.

Don't know about the real data (website, database), but on"archive is" there is a web screenshot where you can see the pins for real locations, in the html inspector you can extract from the dropdown pairs of addresses, game + real one.

 

The interactive interface is broken and very hard to navigate but with enough patience....

You could try "web archive org" to look for some older indexed years but it doesn't play well with interactive websites.

I searched for grandtheftdata.com on archive.is, web archive seems to not be working, only loads indefinitely.

 

Here is the url with archived website, you can also download an archived copy (as the archive saw it last time, not as it was working years ago)
