Stop deluding yourselves... I won't discuss in detail but most of us know now what and where North Yankton is. It's purpose is known now and there is no possible way it will be a playable region in free roam.

Common sense.

Kindled / religion = fail

Mapper's logic / science = win

How did you make this about religion? Lmao science technically is a religion.

Because Kindled, like religion, is based on pure faith and little to no evidence. The Mappers in here, much like science, relies purely on evidence... Science has discovered so many things that people in the 21st century rely on. The "theory" of evolution has almost as much evidence as the Copernicus theory, and a lot of modern medicine is based on evolution. Science is not a religion and every discovery has to start as a "theory" before they proceed to test and evaluate their findings. On the contrary, Religion doesn't seek to find answers based on facts. They just babble on with the same old bullsh*t without any reason or logic to support their statements... much like Kindled. Kindled is delusional in much the same way, although, he is just 13 years old and has plenty to learn .

Anyway, this isn't a religious debate. So let's stop it here.

I get that, but also science has its flaws. All I'm saying is don't mention a touchy subject like religion and science and then attack people for defending/arguing about it. Ya know? Is Kindled annoying? Yes, but at least he isn't here spoiling the ending of games and stuff.

Definition of religion: A set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe. A specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of people. A body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs... So by that definition, yes science is a religion.

But yes lets stop it here, and get back to mapping.

Realistic Steak Cult

There is a big movie studio in the city. With sets and everything. Cant post screen for mapping, due to the prohibition of leaks. :/

Also Burger Shots are in game too.

Hey guys, could someone explain how big the actual City part of the map in GTA 5 is?

Say in comparison to GTA IV?

Thanks! Trying to get an idea of how big parts of the map are.

LS itself is almost as big as the entire GTA IV map. And almost 1/3rd of the entire map.

btw there is multiple construction sites in the downtown area, Not just the mile high club. I counted at least 4.. though 3 of them were only 3 storey max.

Also at least 12/13 hangars at the Los Santos airport .. ranging from gen av to enormous monster hangars.

Can confirm endless drive thrus and restaurants that werent on the "labeled" map. Plus tonnes and tonnes of liquor stores, pawn shops and gas stations. All with people using them. Just saw a big taco place lol.

Its a prologue mission. You can drive around, but the place is not big. Its like Saints Mark bistro in GTA SA just bigger. You will do another mission there later in the game, but you cant go there in freeroam.

And from what I assume it is all about I see no reason to be able to return to it in free roam.

Also, the mountains in the North Yankton screencapture look absolutely nothing like the Vinewood Hills and Mount Chiliad. The contours aren't even remotely similar.

Looks to me like we can visit it anytime, look at background, the vinewoods hills are there and so is chilliad.24brvrn.jpg

Nice :D

Is this not Grapeseed?

I think R* have made a stupid error in doing this.... Why go through all that effort of creating all this! I mean the whole thing looks brilliant! It's ashame we can't visit it when we like.. They should have incorporated it into the map or had a separate off-shore snow based island.

For just a mission purposes it's waay too much detailed. Snowy textures on wheels, snow on car roof, snow falling from the sky and of course whole chunk of map. All of that just for 1 or 2 missions? I know that something similar was in SA, but this time they put muuch more work on that. And btw. that screenshot is so pretty :O

I think that the mountains line up with the ones on the Welcome to Grapeseed Picture from the view finders. They are not 100% because the angle of the shot is slightly different - but they are close.

I think snow will be in the game anyway because of the range of weather patterns we have seen. so North Yankton MAY be a one off location - but it wont be the only place to see snow. just my guess.

Just like science been proven wrong in the past, the mappers will be proven wrong as well. Is earth flat? Does the sun and everything in the universe rotate around earth? No! Science is not always right. Just look up the recent findings about the big bang. They might be wrong about that too

Umm, you know science has never been proven wrong, correct? The whole point of science is to keep studying, testing, analyzing, and expanding knowledge. Thats whats great about science. If they find something "Wrong" they study the topic, test it, and find the actual answer. Science didnt say the world was flat. People said the world was flat, so science studied it and found the actual round shape to be more accurate. the big bang has never and will never be considered fact by science. It is a theory, and it is the most plausible explanation of how the earth was created, but by no means does anyone in the scientific community claim it to be fact.

Man, religion has been wrong for ever.

The bible still says that the Earth is the center of the universe.

That just doesn't make any sense considering North Yankton is not on the main map. If there is an island on the east or west of the main island you would still not see the mountains aligned in the way they are in that screencapture. I think they main reason why people believe they mountains are the same is because they are around the same height but that is really the only true similarity.

But isn't it in a mission? This destination marker looks like the destination marker from IV that was yellow too, "our personal marker" was green, right?

Trust me, this is NOT on the main map. Even if you'd argue that the vegetation looks vaguely similar to Grapeseed, and the hills on the horizon vaguely similar to Reservoir Hill (left) and Vinewood Hill (right)... you wouldn't be seeing them in the east-southeast.

Yes, North Yankton looks large. I assume it's not a timed mission, so four days from now, you can just take a ride and find out what's there.
