The shape of the coast and hills is based on the "Liberty City it's over!" teared page in the Episodes From Liberty City manual. Its shape is roughly the same as Los Angeles so I went with my gut and used it for my map.

Awesome! Oh and I'm glad Bullock Wilshire is returning. Oh, and I always though the map was based on that, it would make make a lot of sense.

Rancho Palos Verdes is most likely(if R* does add it) on the most southwestern tip of Los Santos. LSX is most likely near it, maybe above that area or a bit northeast. If R* decides to kick those extra suburbs they'll probably place LSX where those should be.

Well, as much as I'd like to, I don't know the answer to that.

All of this is pure speculation but I think that LSX will be located more to the South-East of Los Santos. Kinda like it was in GTA SA.

I know this isn't right geographically speaking but the guys at R* sometimes take some liberties with locations.

 

As for Rancho Palos Verdes, I don't think it will show. That's just my 2 cents but I don't see that area making it into the game.

If it were, I imagine it would be located at the southern point of the city, to the east of the harbor, like Zulu said.

Please guys do not think that Los Santos will be small judging from what we've seen so far, there is still a massive amount of city we still haven't seen. Los Santos isn't just the city, there's a huge suburban area as well. And in the helicopter screenshot, look how small the cars are compared to everything else. Going from the beach to downtown Los Santos will take a good amount of time. And for those of you who are jumping the gun and saying the map will be small, remember the BIBLICAL amount of countryside that we haven't seen yet...

It has seemed small even before these new screenshots but I agree we still have not seen all of LS.

In the shot of the oil pump you can see for what seems like miles through neighborhoods and even on

the hill they have homes. It also seems like the west side of the map is not well known. Plus the countryside and any other smaller cities. I can't wait.

We have seen pretty much everything of Los Santos the city. There goes the "there's a big part we didn't see" thing.

We've only seen a few areas up close, most notably Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Downtown. We haven't seen many overview shots of the southern and eastern part of Los Santos (Compton, Long Beach, Watts, Port of LA, Huntington Beach, East Los Santos, anything behind Downtown). I think there's still a lot to see.

I wonder what landmarks Rockstar would put in the countryside.... seeing that they have many identical buildings/locations in Los Santos that there are in L.A, I can only imagine what they will do outside of the city.

I think it's more about the feeling and atmosphere of the city than being a faithful recreation of Los Angeles.

I'm not a New Yorker and I've never been to NYC but I'm sure NYC residents felt like they were in New York while cruising around Liberty City.

Personnaly, with only a few comparisons point like TV shows or movies taking place in NYC, Liberty City had the same touch.

 

And I'm pretty sure it will be the same with Los Santos/Los Angeles this time around.

It looks very big. People are assuming that Compton, Watts, SC, etc. aren't in the game because they haven't been shown. However, they have shown the LB port, so it is assumed that they won't leave the space between Downtown and LB empty. That's is where all the other places are going to be. Hopefully they don't forget El Segundo, Torrance, Gardena, Carson, etc.

Sunset Media Tower. The shape is similar and it's the only building like that on either Hollywood or Sunset Blvd, which the in-game building seems to be on.

u guys cant compare real LA map with LS..thats why it looks so small...it will never be the same like in real life... I think that the map is really huge

So Interstate 2 might be Interstate 10. Both starts near at the Santa Monica Pier. I-2 might end at a San Bernardino based city.

I don't get why people equate a condensed LS to a small map. No one said the map is small. I think most "LS is small" posts are referring to the interpreted city limits, try not to mix up the game's urban area with LS itself.
