Mapping Los Santos! Building/landmark analysis

Congrats to all the mappers! It's amazing how completely accurate the fan maps were to the real one. These past 2 years have been filled with incredible effort and wisdom. Only 6 days to go!

@lxr This was a great spot, the answer to the puzzle was the entire subway system was drawn in the wrong place on the subway blueprint! It doesn't go through the golf course or marina, it should all be pushed down about 500m south east. Maybe it'll be fixed on the final blueprint?

 

 

The red line marked on the blueprint below also gets moved the same distance to the southeast creating a tunnel joining the Vespucci Canals with Del Perro Beach.

Its what many of us do to pass the time. I'm looking at the map and planning how I'll explore it to get the maximum amount of land covered. I'm also reading all the names and seeing the fastest ways to get across the city and map.

I had a theory about a week ago that the hangar we have seen in some screens could be somewhere else than on the desert airstrip.

I looked at the location you pointed out and came up with this possibility: (don't take any of this as facts without more evidence)

We only see the back wall of the hangar in the Michael screen, but the dark corrugated iron sheets match up with those we see inside the hangar. The gable wall is built in the same way, and also made up of what looks like 16 sheets horizontally across, in both images.

Wow, that is well deduced. I also thought about that Cuban 800 screenshot at first, taking in account how the ground is dirt instead of being paved like the airstrip, but I hadn't noticed that hangar in the distance.

 

I wonder, could it be the first Trevor safehouse?

If we measure it the same way as San Andreas and include all the water in a rectangle it's about 30 square miles. Because San Andreas was more square shaped, about 40% of a rectangular GTAV area is water, while San Andreas was 20% water.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it looks like there may be a movie camera symbol right under Los Santos Golf Club

One thing I'm confused about: Chumash and North Chumash, I mean they're so far apart, in fact they're in different counties!

 

I guess if the entire west coast is like the region of Chumash or something idk
