Mapping Los Santos! Building/landmark analysis

No worries. Here is another example.

I can't quite make out the arched bridge, but I can see something in the yellow circle.

It would be in that rough location, so it probably is. Can't confirm though.

on a second look I can see its the other side of the tunnel.

Yeah, the yellow circle may need to move to the left & up a bit, but it just gives an example of the rough location for the bridge.

 

BTW. I hope there are a few surprises for us in some of the tunnels.

Would be kinda boring if they were simply dark passages through the mountains.

Isn't it true that R* said the map would be 3.5 RDR (landmass) and 5 RDR (both landmass and sea).

And they also stated that the game would be GTA IV, SA and RDR combined.

 

Can someone please clarify what it is they mean? Because 5 RDR is a helluva lot more than the combi of the IV,SA,RDR maps. And it's said to be the same.

They including indoor spaces also along with underwater and I would assume height in the mountains( think Skyrim mountains).

I have marked these points out in Green on the image below.

There is an area near to it which appears undefined which I marked out in red. this area has a building in its center. it is a large flat area, you guys may already know what it is. (I'm new so go easy)

 

 

hmmm, is it me or does that "undefined area" look alot like the place franklin has the shootout with the ballas in the gameplay trailer?

possibly, I watched that bit again but I wasn't sure.

there is a mountain range to Franklin's right and he could only be looking away from the bridge as there is no bridge visible from Franklin's viewpoint

It works out the same by only counting the in-bounds, fully usable part of RDR which is 5.8 square miles. 5.8 times 3.5 = 20.3. Landmass total of the three different games: 5.8 (RDR) + 11.3 (SA) + 3.3 (IV) = 20.4. Neat, huh?

 

There's 17.4 square miles of terrain in RDR but you can't touch most of it. It does the job of making it look huge though.

How much smaller would it be compared with the mountain near Paleto Bay, which is believed to be Mount Chilliad.
