This is the real road from the Yankton Screenshot. This is Nipton Road.

North Yankton = Nipton.

http://i.imgur.com/ooKBm60.jpg

Nipton is closer to Las Vegas then to Los Angeles.

Las Venturas confirmed!!!11!

Las Venturas can be DLC. And it may be close to the Cali border, but LIKE I ALREADY SAID IF YOU WOULD READ: It's IN San Bernardino county. And that is one of the places rockstar names by name in basing their game on.

LA and San Bernardino County.

If ANYONE'S theory is even remotely plausible, it's mine first and foremost. It's too obvious not to be true, too.

I also assure you point blank: North Yankton = Nipton. It is a personal guarantee.

And your theory fails when you state it has to be the northeastern corner of the map which doesn't have desert vegetation as already shown with the rocket town being in that particular corner.

I can't remember this has been mentioned before, but i swear i see a lake inside the red form. Watch the road on the southeast that goes Half way across the lake and (according to me) leads to a small island.

If it's just me getting crazy at last, please let me know and i will visit a doctor

Wtf, can't edit it on my iphone, but i wanted to ask if this could be whetstone area or something, with the lake included

But wait gwaha, i will get back on this and watch some gameplay (hate it when i have to watch all those things over and over to find some proof

I believe that's just a mountain. A tunnel can be seen here...

Uh, the rocket town does have that kind of vegetation, it has more sand for lawns than grass and all that lol.

So people can deny it, but I have already told you a fact; North Yankton = Nipton.

Produce something to the contrary.

Put your denial aside, and use critical thinking. Produce evidence to the contrary, because anything else is just denial.

Produce evidence. Like I have. In order to refute evidence, the burden of proof is on you to produce evidence that is to the contrary. So produce evidence, or consider this the best theory on North Yankton to date.

North Yankton = Canada. Trevor said it.

Prove it.

If I provide evidence, I'll either get banned, or get a warning, because it concerns the leaks.

But the proof is plentiful.

Prove it is in the northeastern corner. Prove it.

Just posting a photo of flatland with a snowy road is not remotely proof of anything. Produce some actual evidence instead of just showing a photo with snow.

I have a strong feeling that North Yankton could be area where Mountain Chilliad and Mountain Josiah are, but somewhere behind them, i doubt area would be separated from the map, and that island could be just an island that was added by Rockstar later before Gameplay trailer. Weather makes one of the biggest things in GTA V, so yeah, i think i remember when they were thinking about snow, cant remember if it was previews or something, but i do feel i remember someone talking about snow in GTA V. Thats just my thought.

PS: Remember that it can snow in California, not only in California but in Nevada too (i said Nevada because it has tons more desert than California, or better said, total desert). But anyway, we'll see when game comes out, i cant wait!!

EDIT: ''North Yankton is a town in Grand Theft Auto V, which is located in Blaine County. In and around the town, it seems to snow. It's based on Big Bear Lake''

Ah, did not know that - however, aren't all those leaks, especially the ending, debunked now as garbled together and mixed up?

I haven't heard any of them - going from information at my hands only, I am forced to be confident about Nipton being North Yankton - it's just too perfect of a fit, especially if you look at how the map has been condensed from reality to make up los santos - if you use your mind and shift palm springs and salton sea to where the mountains north of LA are between the two, it all fits together, and Nipton ends up on the hanging off section of unmapped area of the game map.

EDIT: ''North Yankton is a town in Grand Theft Auto V, which is located in Blaine County. In and around the town, it seems to snow. It's based on Big Bear Lake''

And if you follow the roads of the real life map, Nipton Road is that same main road in big bear lake biggrin.gif

Remove (with your mind) the area between big bear lake and nipton on a real map, and nipton rests right on the edge of the lake, without breaking the connecting road.

Big Bear Lake seems more possible due to the fact that it's located +- 97 miles from LA and Nipton is 226 miles.

Sure thing, there could be a tunnel there, but i have 3 more questions:

1: i don't see the shape of a mointain in it, where do you see that?

2: the 2 'things' in the north-east look like small islands, right?

3: why are there no trees / mountain colloring?

Ow, and some people were talking about kifflom or something and an enterance?? Could be a tunnel then, on a island. Or.... O wait, i have to visit a doctor now, i finally got crazy

Again, follow the road from big bear lake to nipton. San Andreas is smaller than this entire game and has basically the entire south west in it.

And nipton is STILL san bernadino county.

North Yankton = Nipton. And in the game, it's just missing all the space between nipton and big bear lake.

Also, none of that from wikia is more than speculation either.

Wikias can too easily be edited and there is no source for the claim made.

@Steffkes

I do see the shape of a mountain, especially slightly further upwards from the small circle. It shows a road on the mountain which is slightly cut off by something that is front of it, which is probably a rock outcrop.

The two things in the northeast look similar to other shapes I see on parts of the mountain. If those are islands than the other shapes should be as well and those clearly aren't islands either.

And why are there no trees? Well we have seen a screenshot of a truck moving tree logs with trees from within that area. It is probably a forest clearing.

Can I get some help finishing this? I know there is probably a lot of inaccuracies. Are the gangs even in the right spot?

AzEdit™ › You just edited this in on purpose, didn't you?

Pretty solid, however it needs fixing up a little. Here's what I think.

Santa Maria - What you marked.

Vespucci - The beach and two blocks east of the Pleasure Pier.

Marina - Vespucci Canals.

Marina del Sol - Marked on the map.

Little Seoul - South of the Del Pierry fwy, east of the Los Puerta fwy, north of Vespucci Canals and Marina del Sol and south of Rockford Hills.

Sunset - Pretty much between the Standard and Mondrian hotels and Chateau Marmont.

Rockford Hills - North of Del Pierro fwy, the road going past Beverly Center and up the following block, the northern blocks south of the Mondrian Hotel and to the West by the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

LS Country Club.

Richman - The squiggly roads to the north of the city.

Downtown - Boxed between the Del Pierro, Los Puerta and Olympic freeways and the river.

Vinewood - Starts two blocks up from Del Pierry fwy, along the road that goes past the Beverly Center, the road north of Vinewood Blvd and east of the LS freeway.

Industrial - East of downtown across the river.

East LS - Only the area surrounding Echo/Mirror Park.

Vinewood Park - Marked on Fido's map.

South LS - I'm not sure how many districts the hoods are split into, but for now keep them a single one.

Port - Pretty much the port at the south of the city.

1: wow, i looked at it and thougt we were watching straight down on it, but now i see the mountain structures you mean. So it is no lake then. suicidal.gif

2: still think those lighter area's are strange things in that landscape. alien.gif

3: -_- , but also happy.gif

(4: now i see the tunnel enterance, i, just watched it from a wrong perspective) blush.gif

I think Stefkes has a point. Notice how the tress suddenly stop around the red outline and how the area inside the outline has very little noticeable terrain unlike the surrounding land.

A little lake at the base of Chilliad by the the bottom tram station is entirely plausible. It could be some kind of a combination between Pal Springs and Big Bear as a mountain resort area.

You have the same kind of area next to Paleto and you can tell in the gameplay trailer that is not a lake either. It is just an area with a lot of deforestation.

And if you look at the mountain behind the red circle you see blobs on the mountain which are pretty much in the exact same grey tone as the supposed islands. Or as I mentioned before the dirt road on the mountain seems to be blocked from view right above the smaller circle, telling us that has got to be a rock of some kind and yet according to you and Stefkes that is a part of the lake.

Not at all.

You can see what I'm talking even better in the video. The lack of contour, the lack of trees, and just how much that area looks like water.

I'm not trying to make a big deal about this. If it's a part of the mountain or a small lake, I'm not bothered either way. I'm just sharing my opinion.

True, but you can plainly see a tunnel going through the mountain in the picture on the last page. If it weren't for the tunnel, I would've thought it was a lake too.

Or how about the shading to the left of the road which is to the left of the main circle? A part of that shows the same shading as the supposed lake.

But is it a tunnel ? The only thing that hints at that is that the road stops. It would look the same way if it was a road that stopped at the shore of a lake.

I'm gonna stop now. I realize this is a pretty strawman argument on my part, and this thread has had far too many of those.

Well, I guess the railroad could stop there, since that building to the right of the railroad tracks kind of looks like some kind of cargo station... Not a bad idea.

Nice.

There is definitely a town in the north east (nipton/north yankton) for sure, because why else would there be a road out there? It would not make sense at all to just have a road go around the mountain without a destination :x
