Also, I hope I don't get trolled for saying this, but I'm wondering if there might be a chance that this map might be real, or identical to the real map. If its not real, it could be identical to the real map.

Here is why I think the map could be real, or fake but identical to the real map.

If you look at the street layout in LS, it seems to kinda match the screen shots shown today. It seems like the size fits too. I see a bridge on the south part of the map of LS, which seems to match the rotation of the one in the heli shot from today. The screenshot of the game play that kinda looked like south west Algonquin with photo shop work done however looks fake. But the way that maps LS looks compared to the streets, it seems like there is a small chance it could be real, or accurate to the real map.

It's been proven fake.

 

Rockstar said that ALL "info" is fake unless it was sourced by them and in their newswire. This was never even mentioned by them, therefore fake.

But I think that the leak image may be identical to the real map. Look at the heli screenshot, and see the bridge. Now look at the leak LS, and do you see the bridge.

 

I think the map is fake, but may be identical to the real LS. Might be around that size too.

That map doesn't match up to what we see in the trailer at all - for one there's no/not a big enough venice beach area.

Also don't add such big pictures.

Yeah, I think every noticed the bridge upon viewing the screen shot. Just goes to show Los Santos isn't as big as Rockstar claims it to be. That's why I believe San Fierro and/or Las Venturas will be in GTA V. Personally I think that's the only way Rockstar's statement "biggest and most ambitious title of the series" can hold true.

Biggest map might mean that they're not using island maps anymore. A California-based region, even a re-imagined one, would look very cheesy if it were an island. This was proven with San Andreas. This might also explain why they decided to not do Liberty State, it just would have looked stupid.

i need the whole map or even be ingame and fly/drive above/through the city to actually get the real size of the map/town

Would it be unreasonable to think the map has to be at least 1/3 bigger than LC? I mean, if LC was too small for planes, it's not like they can add 1 or 2 sq. miles and say "Yup, big enough for planes now". IMO, I would guess it's going to be double the size of LC. Maybe optimistic........

You got to take in account the country side. The country side isn't as easy to map as Los Santos. The country side could be HUGE. It could be a little country side that is wrapped around LS which would suck.

 

@hellobeatle: Your right. I bet thats the spot. Also just behind the spot you pointed out, I can clearly see the mile high club. The shot that was right by the mile high club is taken on the other side of the building in the heli shot.

Take the size of LC. Divide by 3. Add that amount to LC size. 1/3 bigger than LC.

As i mentioned before the distance between downtown and the bridge in Long Beach is not as big as in RL. The map you showed had a gigantic airfield between the point of view and the bridge you mentioned. I can't see an airfield on the helicopter picture . D2D said that South Central( between downtown and the bridge in RL) is in the west part of LS. So the LAX also has to be there i guess.

But you said it right the bridge is the same one as in the first trailer .

You'd then say 1 and 1/3 bigger. Saying something is "bigger" by what ever number means factor. So a factor of 1/3 would be smaller than the original value. I'm Asian so I have a neck for this kinda stuff.

Nah bud you're wrong. That's like saying its 133% bigger. He said 33% bigger, 1/3.

 

 

The only way your statement would be true is if he said the size of the map is 1 and 1/3. But he said its 1/3 BIGGER
