Why would Beverly Hills City Hall be so close to Downtown? Either:

 

1. This map is REALLY condensed

2. Beverly Hills City Hall houses something else, and therefore intentionally positioned near Downtown.

 

I'm actually leaning to 2.

Also I think the US bank tower needs to be taller.

Look at the difference in real life between the buildings?

Look at the building - Westin Bonaventure - http://www.emporis.com/building/westin-bon...-angeles-ca-usa it's 118m high. When the US bank tower is 300m high, it just looks out of proportion (The Westin bonaventure building.

 

Do you agree, also I will be uploading a great picture outlining an overhead view of the new screens.

This shows the distance in real between Echo park and Downtown LA, it looks quite realistic in the game too.

I'm actually leaning to 2.

It's probably because of the Beverly Hills Police Department, that's the spot where we spawn if we get busted and they need it inside/near the main city.

The screen shot of the Helicopter is just in the Beverly Hills area to Santa Monica Pier.That whole are is just a small portion of the map.

Its still big as hell.I can only image how the South Central and East Los Santos will look.Also the whole map will look like.

No, it's not the golden gate bridge. The golden gate bridge would be much larger and oh, there's the massive fact that the golden gate bridge isn't in LA and so won't be in Los Santos.

 

Golden gate is a San Fransisco Land mark.

That means, if my Gmap is up to date, that you guys have found 70 real life buildings/places. Damn impressive.

I noticed that the city doesn't seem to be as big as real life LA. If you look closely on the helicopter screenshot you can see the Vincent Thomas bridge ( the one from the first trailer with the speedophile) in Long Beach.

 

 

Nothing wrong with that, but in real life the difference between downtown LA and Long Beach is about 30 km. That's about 20 miles.

I ask myself where is south central? In real life it's between downtown LA and Long Beach. Maybe it's in the left side of LS like in San andreas. I think R* doesn't want to recreate every single street/part of LA like in LA Noire. Well actually LA Noire was set only in central LA and Hollywood so nevermind but you get what im trying to say i hope . I think they do this because the city would be way to boring with all the same looking typical LA streets. Another point could be technical issues with console performance due to less RAM maybe.

My question is where is Hollywood region? As we can see from the new screens, that Beverly hills is very close to downtown. But in real life West Hollywood/Hollywood is in between them. Great finds by the way.

I don't want to be "that guy" but can you guys please resize some of the images before posting them or at the very least simply post the link? The whole scrolling-to-read-peoples-comments-and-observations thing is getting quite annoying.

South Central Los Santos. The docks probably can't be seen in this shot because the angle is so focused on Downtown and west of it.

Not to put too much of a downer on things but I am pretty disappointed at the screens. Not the gfx, rather the size of the city.

 

The CBD is a ridiculous 'lite' version of LA , LS IS LA btw, a 'reimagining' ..well phoeey to that - I wanted a metropolis, not this cut down sh*te we get. 'Oh its playable' you say,

fu*k the lowest common denominator / no patience kids , this is an ADULT game.

 

My hype level is very , very low. Maybe Im getting older and harder to please, but F LS as it looks so far. IF we get some SPRAWLING suburbs it might bring it back , as it is - I see a LC sized LS.

 

End of the line for this console generation.

I'll agree with you that Los Santos is a little too condensed. However, we haven't seen every area of the city yet, so even with the new screenshots, nothing can be determined yet.

 

I do agree that they are intentionally making Los Santos more smaller than it should be, which is evidence for more cities (doubt it's SF and LV, more likely SD and Tijuana).

D2D - exactly ! - smaller than it 'should' be. R* could make LS gigantic - I do hope multiple large cities are present in some form or another as LS is not looking like I would of hoped.

Don't get your hopes completely down. We haven't seen much of the East Los Santos region yet, nor Orange County or even Hollywood or South Central (location pointed out posts up).

Don't worry. I knew it would be small but this helps with my San Fierro and Las Venturas theory. I believe Rockstar is trying to make Los Santos appear huge even though it's not so people won't think there are other cities. I knew Los Santos seemed small from the trailer and the new helicopter screenshot proves my observation correct. All I can say is expect San Fierro and Las Venturas to make an appearance. Rockstar said it'd be biggest game they've made so my take is if they had less cities than San Andreas it wouldn't hold true with their statements of it being the biggest ever.
