You know, now that I think about it, the water area is 1.5x RDR.  Surely the rivers and Lake Alamo don't equal 1.5x RDR.  Maybe there is in fact another island and that water measurement includes some water inbetween the main landmass and the island.

It includes coastal areas too. At least along the edges of the land, it doesn't necessarily have to fill the rectangle with detail.

But it still wouldn't equal to 1.5x RDR, unless Rockstar is hiding something somewhere, or they included a lot of costal areas.

Quick random attempt at underwater detail region in black, it doesn't look like much but it's 30% of the whole shape, so 1.5x RDR for the water and 3.5x RDR for the land.

Guys I got this form the multiple towns Argument, But seriously look at the Square to the right, that literally looks like a small town or city.

looks like tree's.

So the north end of the map could actually be a bay.

Hence the name "paleto bay"

Actually that does seem plausible, but I'm still convinced there's an island either in the north west or the south west based on Catalina, but my moneys on the north west. It just seems more likely to have an island with snow, rather than an awkward transition from desert to snow.

Where did you get that outline from?

Or you made that up? It looks legit.

It's from my fake blueprint, I should be updating it in a few days.

Where is the snowy area located on our maps?

And where is the following image located:

Does the land come in more inwards on the western side than we thought?

So the huge mountain on our immediate right, is the mountain with the Shed on it? (not sure of the Mountain names...)

And mountain in distance is what I think is "Mt Zancudo"?

Also, in the very top left corner you can see crests of mountains. Would they be neighbouring Los Santos city and Vinewood hills?

Yeah the shed is an aerial tramway station and it's from today it's officially Mt. Chiliad smile.gif

The VERY top left is hills to the west of the vinewood ones, yeah, This might be a new view of where they meet the coast so I can't pinpoint them exactly.

Thanks guys! In the meantime, I was making this to clarify my thoughts:

pure conjecture, but couldn't the "bringing a taste of Mexico the the USA" mean that the river flows down from mexico (maybe from snowy hills yet to be seen, but whatever)?

Being british that's what the double entendre sounds like to me, anyway. bringing crap downstream.

Hello, do you have an idea of what is this name?

user posted image

No idea

San Chiansi? I can't find any references for anything like that or anything else.

The writing should be the same width as the word M O U N T A I N, so we're seeing almost all of it.

Certainly not that one because it's pretty run down.

looks ok from down here.

It looked like a wreck from the sky.

Thats a desert area

Mt Chianne

How much more obvious could it be that there isnt two n's in a row so its definitely not Chianne.

Uh, do you even write cursive, or? It's a native american name. Looks like 2 N's to me, in cursive. What are you expecting the N's to look identical as if that's not hand written?

Maybe "Chiaru" or meaning "clear, light", since it's near the lighthouse or what not and epsilon is based on scientology and being "clear' is to see the light to them.. But uh, looks like Chianne in cursive handwriting to me.

Mexico would be to the south and it's a reference to an old saying about taking a trip to Mexico and not drinking the water because it'll make you sick, that's all. It's about the water being polluted and not suitable for drinking.

don't get me wrong, i'm not on a "mexico confirmed!" tip. I just found it an interesting phrase to be using, that's all.

Chilliad suggested to be the same mountain as the Hikers image, by this (yeah I know it's not 100% and I am a bit late to the game). But combine that with the suggestion somewhere to climb Chilliad as the big challenge, just the SW or NE side as there is little other possibilities.

Hm, I don't think it would say Mt. Chianne Mountain, I'm gonna have to go with zombie elvis and assume it says San Chiansi Mountain (I think it looks like Chiansi).

Holy Moly look at the size of that lake! The map is going to be huge Jesus Christ.

This^^

I still wonder how come the Alamo Sea looks small in the byplane screenshot. Still, this is confirmation that Rockstar has not disappointed with the size of this map so far:)

No, we already know that the river with the supposed military base(which youve marked in red) on it flows out to the open sea, with a bridge at the end of the river. And that 'open sea' would be a lot closer to the military base than if your top image was to be correct.

However, I'm pretty you have the location of the bridge in green correct, you can see that bendy corner to the top of what you've marked in red on the skydiving pic in both screens.

To the left of the skydiver is the 'end' of the river going in to the lake, whereas it 'starts' at the ocean further down to the right of the skydiver

I don't know about that normal42, where's the dirt road right next to it?

You're right, and the river is much too straight in that section. Retracted.
